I use them a decent amount. I usually have a thing of baking soda mixed with some oil to sprinkle over our rugs occasionally befor I vaccuum. Tea tree oil in laundry is awesome, keeps the washer nice and clean as well. It's too humid right now for a diffuser but I'll make lil spray bottles to spritz around our curtains.

We get a lot of herbs and spices and oils from mountain rose herbs. But I've also just gotten them from Amazon and Trader Joes.

I know a lot of you ladies hate MLM, and I generally do too. But I will only ever buy Young Living oils. I believe in their quality. A lot of other brands buy their oils from other companies and sell it under their label. Young Living owns all of their own farms, and as a member, you can go and visit each and every one of their farms too see everything in person. Yes, it's technically an MLM, but thy have a great rewards program to make it more affordable, and I believe that you get what you pay for. I prefer quality!!

For any of you ladies with little girls...I made a "hair spray" for my threenager to attempt to add some peace and calm to her life. I put two drops lavender and 2 drops wild orange in a small spray bottle (2oz I think) - then topped it off with distilled water. I use it to wet her hair for braids in the AM - or just spritz a few on her hair for an all day yummy smell - plus maybe one of these days it will calm her down!!!

@Mrs D: Yes, again, it's personal to how you use them. I do really think EOs are powerful stuff and think they should be used with safety and caution so I appreciate when companies hold themselves to a high standard at least with how they promote their oils! And then it's user discretion at that point. I have used Breathe on my young toddlers as well, but wouldn't diffuse it around or near other children just because of the slight risk unless their parent said it was okay!

@tlcbaby: I hope you like them! I've been very satisfied by PT as a company. They also have a wonderful Facebook group if you're interested - Safe Essential Oil Recipes - where you can interact with their certified aromatherapists for free.

@periwinklebee: @snowjewelz: Hooray for more PT fans!

@tlcbaby: I'm also a big fan of Plant Therapy. I've received some DoTerra and YL oils as gifts, and I like Plant Therapy oils equally well. I also like the vibe of the company - for example, they tell you to dilute oils for topical application to a much greater extent than YL does, the reason being in part that essential oils evaporate really fast when they are not bound with particles in a carrier oil, so you can get the same effect by further diluting since it prevents evaporation to a greater extent. I really like that they give an honest assessment of this, even though they'll sell less oil as a result. And huge plus that it's not MLM. Like @coopsmama: I don't work for them or anything like that, just enjoy their products...

@coopsmama: Thanks for the reply! I joined doTerra for whole sale prices a month ago - the team I am a part of is incredibly responsible with their statements and there are two RNs who are "leaders" and often chime in. I have not used the OnGuard blend yet (I just got it for free) as I make my own blends from the oils...so I was just curious what was bad in the OnGuard one.

My 3 years old used Breathe a lot last winter...which definitely has eucaplytus in it...I doubt it has rosemary but I'll check. Everything they have told me about Breathe is to wait until 18 mos to diffuse...2 years to apply topically (only bottom of feet)...I'll ask about OnGuard on the next info call.

I currently use Lemon & Arborvitae on my 5 mos old...I had great results with it breaking up a chest cold...(1 drop of each in a 10ml roller).

@tlcbaby: I do. I actually started out using DoTerra - I bought one of their larger starter kits and really did have good success with their oils as well but PT is a fraction of the price as you said and I have had just as good of success and have liked some of their blends a whole lot more even. (Specifically the KidSafe formulas.)

@Mrs D: According to Robert Tisserand, author of Essential Oil Safety and a leading expert on oils, eucalyptus and - I think - rosemary, can cause respiratory distress in children under 10. It's rare, but can happen. Personally if your children have been exposed before with no ill reactions it's probably fine but the safest option is to use a blend that has similar benefits but has completely kid safe oils. I like this blend for that purpose: https://www.planttherapy.com/germ-destroyer

And I promise I don't work for that company. :) I just really appreciate their commitment to educating their customers and helping us to safely use oils! I also feel like they don't make crazy promises about what oils can do unlike some of the MLM companies. I LOVE my oils and have seen a lot of benefit for my family be it with treating acne, helping kids to fall asleep, treating migraines, etc. when paired with their guidance and direction but I love that they don't promise the moon!
