@PinkElephant: After a few days the diffusers can get a little gunky so I do wipe them down just to be safe. No other residues that I've noticed.

@PinkElephant: I use Doterra oils. I diffuse a “sleepy” oil at night and use a “thinker” oil on my kids during the day to get them to focus. I have diffusers in pretty much every room of my house. I like playing with the different scents.

@Mrs. Carrot: Thanks! You and I have the same mindset on this 🤣. Do you let the diffuser run all night, and are you finding it leaves any residue?

I have one in my daughter's room to diffuse lavender oil. I don't know if it actually helps, I'm not fully bought into the essential oil effectiveness hype personally, but it doesn't hurt and she seems to enjoy it and it gives her something to concentrate on as she's relaxing so I'm going with it :)

I use these diffusers in our bedrooms and they work really well: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B018CLNEOM/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

For oils, I have a few DoTerra ones that a friend gave me, and once those run out I'll research some others to buy that aren't MLM-based.

Does anyone use essential oils on their kids or in a diffuser in their kids’ bedrooms? This is a completely new realm for me, but I’m curious about them, particularly to be used for:

1) Relaxation/sleep - my very anxious 8 year old has ADHD and tends to fixate on ideas...so naturally has trouble falling asleep often. Melatonin works, but I’m not sure I love giving it every night.

2) Focus - I’m interested in using either a diffuser bracelet or an in room diffuser with peppermint or other oils for concentration on at home learning days.

Thanks for sharing any experience you have!
