@PurplePumps: thanks. That's what I was hoping/assuming. I also had a bunch of ovulation pain for my first medicated cycle and I was getting paranoid because it hasn't been as bad this time even though I have more follicles.

@Chuckles: trigger will force final maturation of the egg and ovulation cause of the lh surge, no matter what your estrogen is.

@pachamama: but if I keep taking the estradiol while I'm doing the trigger and in the days after when I'm supposed to be ovulating, could it mess that up? Or will the trigger force ovulation even if I'm still on the estrogen?

@Chuckles: from what I remember from my experience with the RE, your ovulation is supposed to be suppressed so you don't ovulate too early and mess up the medicated cycle. And then when you get the trigger it times it perfectly. So your doc would be right. Does that make sense? 😊

@Mrs Lavender: thanks! I appreciate the info. That's what I've mostly seen online, so I'm not sure what's going on. I did email them last night so we'll see what they say. She said my lining had the 3 layers and looked good, they just wanted it a little thicker. So maybe it's a low dose?

You can also take Estrace orally which is way more common. Maybe ask about that too?

I’m not sure how helpful I’ll be but felt the need to comment. I’d ask your RE or the nurses to explain why she is having you do this. Seems kinda odd! I’m currently taking Estrace vagainally for my FET. In theory it’s suppose to help thicken my lining and push my estradiol up high enough so I don’t ovulate. I’ve been doing this since CD3.

Does anyone have experience taking estradiol/estrace vaginally around the time of ovulation? I was told to start using estradiol vaginally 2 days before a trigger with TI - and to keep using it until my beta at 14dpo. But now I'm seeing that estradiol is supposed to suppress ovulation. What is going on? Does my RE know what she's doing?! Also, it seemed weird that I was supposed to be having timed intercourse and also soon after inserting the estradiol. Somehow having estrogen dissolving with all the sperm seems like it isn't right. Help!
