Right now it's event driven because LO doesn't go to school yet. We don't have a set time to complete our daily tasks but the order of events are usually the same everyday. Once school starts, I imagine it to be time driven and we'll have to be stricter at following a scheduled timeline.

We're mostly event driven. I'm currently a SAHM and his schedule can be pretty relaxed. I try to stick to a rough schedule, but if things run late for whatever reason we just roll with it. E adapts remarkably well the times that things get flexible.

That might change when I go back to work and he has to be up at a set time for day care.

If we are staying home it is event driven. But if it is pre-k day for my oldest we have to start lunch at 1130 or we could never leave on time. So we flow between each one depending on the day's activity.

I'd say it's loosely time-driven. We have a schedule, but are fairly flexible with it. At least, during the days when we're home (like on the weekends). Weekdays is a different story - it's pretty strictly time-driven, but that's because we only have a set amount of time to eat/play/bath before bedtime!

Event driven, for the most part. Bedtime is the only thing I try and stick to a set time with...but if she went down 30-1hr later, I wouldn't stress too much.

I've never heard it put this way, but I guess we are event driven, although I adhere pretty strictly to bedtime routine starting at 7, give or take a little time earlier or later.

Um, it's a little bit of both. I'll definitely be putting DS in the bath earlier on a day where he refused a nap. But bedtime can't happen until bathtime is done and of course things come up so I guess in a way it's also event driven.

We're event driven, with one LO. We're lucky that she's pretty flexible and her nap schedule isn't super consistent so we make it work. Now that #2 is on the way, we'll have to see what happens with a toddler and newborn!

Event driven, if we go out to eat and don't get home until 7:15 (which is usually ebd time) we can rush nightime routine and have her in bed by 8 I'm not going to freakout.

Weekday morings are out the door by 7:30...so I'm not late for work. I have to make this work, even if it's sending LO to her inhome daycare in her PJs and send a change of clothes. This has happens...but with all the kids, so I don't feel bad ;)

Time Driven. hands down. However, we have a newborn in the house right now, and DH can't help around the house, so our time frame for everything is wayyy off.

We are a mix. Mostly we're event driven with an approximate timeline (I.e. dinner starts sometime between 5:45-6:00). Weekday mornings are more time-driven because we HAVE to leave by 7am. Even so, yesterday F slept in an extra 20 minutes & we just juggled our routine around to let him wake up when he was ready.

We're event driven right now...my kid is 6. I'll probably be the same as LO...I'm not in any hurry or a stickler for exact time when we're just at home. We'll have to be flexible, with a 6 year old and a newborn. Don't have much choice!

My LO is only 6 months old, so this may change, but... both? Right now bedtime is very dependent on when she woke up from her last nap, but I wouldn't rush dinner for bedtime. Bath, yes, I'd rush, but family dinner should be relaxing (well, as relaxing as eating with a todder could be). In my case, I don't rush our bedtime nursing even if it means she goes to bed a little later, but I also am making sure she eats as much as possible so she will sleep longer, which I am sure changes a lot by 3 years old.

We were event driven with one infant.

But as soon as she went to preschool, time driven. We are especially time driven right now with kindergarten drop-off/pick-up times and after-school activities. #2 has adjusted pretty well to our schedule, but it was hard when she was an infant.

We're event driven. There is a rough time schedule for things, but if ends up in bed 15 minutes late because dinner or bath ran long, I'm not going to stress about it.

So let me start by saying DH is retired military and now a Program Manager with the Navy.

Last night I was rushing dinner since my 3 yr old didn't nap, which means an early bedtime. I have a schedule and like to stick to it! Dinner at 530 - bath at 6 - bed at 7 -

My DH says things should be event driven - ok its dinner time and then let dinner last as long as it takes whenever it happens to end move on to the next event...Ok its bath time and again let it flow.....

WTH?

Yes his theory works in his every day job but not in the life of kids!

What do you think or what do you do?

Is your evening event driven or time driven with your kids?
