I've never had to with my child, but my mom called once when my brother was a baby and ate some deodorant, and once for my youngest sister when she drank some nail polish remover (which was totally my fault because I left it sitting there while I went to the bathroom- it was only half of a cap sitting there, but I should have known better with a toddler!) Anyway, both times, they said the amounts were so small that it should be fine and just give them lots of water because they caused dehydration.

I haven't had to call, but I actually try to avoid taking medicine in front of my toddler. She mimics so much that we do, I don't want her to think that she's supposed to put pill-like objects in her mouth.

My husband had to call Poison Control because he drank a Coke with a cigarette butt in it. He was freaking out. They laughed.
Truthfully so did I. LOL

ya. i think i need to start moving my pill bottles. Mavi loves the sound of pills shaking around in it's container.

I've never had to call Poison control but i'm sure thats a scary thing to do.

I learned this one the hard way: I left out a closed bottle of Extra Strength Excedrin, and Charlie somehow got it open (?!). I had only taken one pill out of 50 and there were 49 left in the bottle (Charlie had put one in his mouth, but spit it out), so I was pretty sure we were ok.

Still, I wasn't 100% sure that I had taken that single pill... you know how doubts form when you really think about something over and over? That's exactly what happened here.

We ended up calling Poison Control and they said that even if Charlie had ingested a single pill, he was old enough that he would be ok.

Let me just say: I no longer ever leave bottles where he can even see them, let alone open them up and take a pill!!

Ever had to call Poison Control? Or barring that, have you moved all pills and pill bottles out of reach of your LO?
