@edelweiss: It was pretty funny.... I've been laughing at myself all evening. At the time I was laugh-crying, which was pretty freaky!

Im glad DH found it funny, mind he couldn't be too judgemental, he stabbed a home in the wall with a screwdriver when he was building a cupboard a few month ago!

Been there, done that!

Miss A was about six weeks old, my DH went to work his night shift and I cried for FOUR hours. I don't even know what exactly it was that I was crying about!

Hang in there Mama, it's completely normal and better out than in!!!

I did nearly the same thing.
I asked DH to hook up our video monitor for weeks. WEEKS. He did not. So the night we intended to dive in fully for sleep training (which I wouldn't do without the monitor) I decided to set it up myself. Things are going well as I'm pretty handy when it comes to computers, and then something got screwy. Suffice it to say that I was MAJORLY resentful that he didn't just do it before when I had asked and when he had countless hours hanging out on the computer doing whatever. I spend the whole evening fussing with the monitor while he hung out with LO (which I would have rather done or at least joined in on as that's our only time to spend together on a work day) and then when I thought it was working... it wasn't. I took the camera, threw it, looked for what was immmediately close to me (LO's small toy bin in the living room) and threw it, too. Started crying and then proceeded to clean it all up while I wailed.
Of course, LO also started crying because I was crying and the whole thing was a mess.
5 minutes later I got the camera working and setup, we did a happy dinner/bath/bedtime and she went right to sleep so we didn't even start sleep training that night. Sigh.
Sometimes you have to let it out.

what you're going through is not funny, but your description of the attempted wire pulling is. you poor thing! sleep deprivation and postpartum hormones are not a fun combination.

when LO was a few weeks old, i threw a water bottle at the wall. unfortunately for me, i was quite successful because the cap was not screwed on tightly. water went flying everywhere. then i had to go get a stack of towels to clean up my mess.

OMG I feel so stupid!! I did the most absurd thing earlier!

Im not an angry person. Im just not. I do feel anger but I struggle to express it (it usually comes out as crying). Today, I lost the plot and the result was.... ridiculous.

Im tired, Bees. Im so, so tired. Not just physically, although 7 weeks with reduced sleep has contributed! Im responsible for someone day and night, day after day....and she won't settle to sleep at the moment, dammit! I neeed her to sleep so she will stop grizzling.

So, this afternoon, I got her to sleep and the postman came and woke her up - grr. Then I got her to sleep and my dog SNEEZED and woke her up! Agh! Then, after another half hour of misery I got her to sleep and the phone rang! It was a company trying to sell us windows! DH spoke to the man and put the phone down...

..... at that moment, E started crying and I LOST IT! I grabbed the phone, threw it to the floor and yanked the wire (trying to pull it out the wall) but there was a good amount of wire coiled behind the side table - so I yanked again, and again (emitting an angry squeak)... before DH shouted (angrily) "what are you doing? What's *wrong* with you?".

Anyway, he forgave me for my outburst but has been teasing me all day for my 'furious uncurling of the phone wire'.

Have you ever flipped out in a temper? Was it a better attempt than mine?!
