@miss-spunkin: Ahhh! Ok, that makes sense - I think I would get it. :-) I've been looking at them to help LO with the transition to daycare. The first day was rough and I think it would have helped her to have something from home with her.

@BabyBoecksMom: Well, in the book she suggests introducing some type of comfort/security blanket/doll in order to help them learn to feel safe without the constant presence of mom. She has a step by step plan on how to introduce it (she calls it a "lovey"). So it would not only be a tool in transition from our bed to his, but also something he can keep for the years to come.

I like the idea of it, but I think a shirt you slept in would have the same effect... if you're just trying to get him to transition to the crib

I read about it in Pantley's book, "No Cry Sleep Solution". It's somehow specially made to retain a mothers/fathers scent and it supposed to work wonders in helping your baby sleep on their own. It sounds like a tall order for a doll/blanket, but there are a lot of great testimonials. I am considering getting one for LO, he will sleep on our bed (I assume because it smells like me?), but not his bed. This might help??
