Of course it doesn't help that there are enough reality shows set here to have a 24 hour NJ reality channel! I grew up on the Jersey shore but Snooki and her friends are not the norm. Neither are the Housewives, the Sopranos or the random people from the hair salon show I can't think of the name of : ) </p> <p>NJ is a pretty diverse place. I grew up at the shore, I work in an urban inner city and I now live in a fairly rural suburb. I also never say Joisey. I have met both Springsteen and Jon Bon Jovi though. We're in Orlando so you can imagine the challenges that poses as well... tourist wise too... nothing in Orlando except tourist destinations (ie, no beach/everglades just Disney, Sea World, Universal) so now that we've done the tourist stuff, it bugs us (trying to rent a car during spring break time, for example. It was almost impossible!!!) But since DH works for one of the parks I mentioned, he clearly appreciates them... just doesn't like driving behind them!! :)</p> <p>I DO wish we were less tourist-focused because it keeps a lot of chains/brands from coming. I miss my Penn Station... Trader Joe's... Rock Bottom... Noodles &amp; Co... Cosi... so many delicious chains that aren't in Orlando or even FL because it's a "tourist market" and doesn't have the stable "repeat business."
