DS is more into jumping so we went with the Baby Einstein jumparoo. The toys keep him busy (there's places to clip your own too) and he jumps a lot. He likes it and it's strengthening his legs a lot. We got it for him at 4 months but he's always had good head and neck control and strong legs.

I got this for LO when he was 5 months old. He always had good head control. At first he didn't even put any weight on his legs but now at almost ten months he actually bounces in it. Honestly I was concerned about him being in it for too long and how it might affect his development, etc. but he doesn't even want to stay in for long and we don't even use it every day. But it's been great to have somewhere safe and fun to put him while I clean or do laundry, etc.

We got this for DS when he was around 4-5 mos. He loves it and it can be converted to an activity center when he learns to walk.

My daughter starting using a jumparoo (the baby einstein jumper - it was her favorite thing!) at 3.5 months. I really liked it because she hated tummy time but I didn't want her head to get flat so it was something to keep her head off a chair lol. She used it until she started walking just before 11 months because they aren't supposed to use them once they start walking and she no longer enjoyed it once she could walk around!

@msplatypus: i'd say when your LO is able to hold their head up really well. And their feet/toes touch the ground. I have both and LO loves them but lately I've read that they're not so great for development, so limiting use is probably good. Sad for me, since he loves it and it frees me up for a bit, but I do try to limit it to 15-20min a day.

We started using one around 5 months i think.... She was using one at day care so we busted out the one we had at our house. It came in real handy as she got more mobile and i needed to shower... it lived in our upstairs bathroom for months and i would say by 15 months we finally stopped using in (more like she stopped letting me put her in it.
