My dad's a pretty serious guy, but he's a total softie when it comes to my son. He loved having us around over vacation, he totally got down on the floor and into toys to play with DS. When my mom told him that I'm pregnant, I finally talked to him afterward. He goes "Do you have anything that you want to tell me?" He's a man of few words and has never directly said anything about being excited about becoming a grandpa, but because I know him I can tell he's over the moon.<br /> The first thing he said in our conversation tonight was to ask if I'd heard about Beyonce and what she'd named the baby. I love that he has these little ways of showing his excitement about my baby- even if they don't take an obvious form :)<br /> He's also sent me articles about baby naming trends and radio clips about birth playlists from NPR.<br /> Has your dad done anything unconventional to express his excitement over becoming a grandpa? </p>
