My water broke as soon as we got in our hospital room. I had pretty much no time for an epidural. We arrived at 4:50 pm and Zoey Lorelei was born at 7:48 on July 18 weighing 8 lbs 5 oz and measuring 21 inches long. I was surprised though that he said he'd come hang out with me even if I can't go to lunch and that he'd stay longer if he needs to. I was laying in bed at around 6:45 when I felt a small popping feeling, kind of like my back popping. When I went to the bathroom, I immediately lost more of my mucus plug and have had bits of bloody show ever since. At the same time as the pop, I started to have what I could only assume was a contraction. It's felt like a strong menstrual cramp with a lower back ache. I called the doctor to make sure I was actually feeling what I thought I was and the nurse said that they are contractions, but not quite strong enough yet. They're also not super close together yet, although they seem to be varying from 5-15 minutes in length. </p> <p>I hate being here alone though. I don't want my husband to leave work until we know he has to. My dad should be here in about an hour and a half though so at least someone will be here with me. They seem to feel a bit stronger the past thirty minutes or so. The nurse said to call back when they're around 5 minutes apart though and I can't even talk through them. I'm hoping she lets me get all of this over with today and arrives by tonight. Fingers crossed! </p>
