@winniebee: so i've been reading through some of the old exclusive pumper threads bc i just started with my LO for the past week. She's only a little more than 2 weeks old. i'm trying to figure out how much i should be giving her. she's still small, on tuesday she was 6lb 5.5 oz. she was getting about 16oz all last week. i increased it and yesterday she got 18oz. it seems like she'll just eat whatever i give her. so i read that u increased what was in the bottle by .25oz, i feel like my LO would just drink whatever was in the bottle. unless i'm not feeding her enough to begin with? i don't want to overfeed her but i also want to get her up to the average 24oz/day i've been reading online. any thoughts? sorry kind of long!

LO is 7 months old and takes 6-7 oz per bottle every four hours or so. On average about 36 oz a day. I pump 4 times on a bad day and 6 times on a good day. Prior to the 5 month mark I was pumping 7-8 times a day.

That sounds about right - at that point, that's what my LO was doing, too, though I think he had one less feeding. He's never really taken more than 24 ounces in a day.

What I do is always put in slightly more milk than what I *think* he will take. So if he takes 3..5 I'd put 3.75 in there....so that I would know when he was ready to up his intake.

My lo bf or bottle fed from me pumping every 2 hours except at night and early morning hours. On average about 28-30 oz a day. I was pumping every 2-3 hours, once before I went to bed and once in the middle of the night..say like 2 or 3 am.

That sounds about right. My LO would take about 16 ounces at that age over a 10 hour period, plus 3-4 additional nursings.

Question for exclusive pumpers since finding this information on the internet is rare... How old is your LO? How many ounces of breast milk is fed to your LO? How often do you feed?

Mine is 12 weeks old, he currently takes 3.5 ounces and eats 8 times a day, so a total intake is 28 ounces a day. I know the amount of ounces doesn't change in a day for a breastfed baby, but they usually start taking more during the day right?
