I'm 13 weeks pp and I still haven't done much. I had an easy recovery but my incision area still bothers me. It tends to burn or sting if I do too much (my doctor thinks it's the scar tissue bothering me). I want to take more walks but my baby isn't very easy going so it depends on if he will let me without screaming. I have done some planks and push ups and felt fine afterwards.

I was up and walking with the baby right away - we would go out for short walks with the dog twice a day starting at 2 weeks pp. I started a postpartum bootcamp 3x a week at 8 weeks and then started personal training with a lot more intensity at 6 months. I found that with very heavy lifting or reaching I could still feel some pulling and pain even at 6 months, but every other kind of exercise was fine. I would have been leery about sports like Ultimate or soccer where you could get really jolted or knocked into until after 6 months and I would take it easy on indoor rock climbing, but you could def do some light cycling or jogging at 6 weeks pp and see how you feel! I found my exercise readiness self evident - like if I did too much too soon, it immediately hurt!

I started going to the gym at 8weeks after I got the go ahead from my doctor. before that we were going for walks every day. I was able to get back to doing whatever I wanted to do at the 8 week mark. I was feeling completely myself again at about 5 weeks, but I waited just in case.

Pretty much same as @JerricaBenton. I was cleared at 6 wks. but felt semi-active before that. I do have stairs in my house so I'm not sure if that contributed to healing up fast? Anyways, I started on the elliptical -- doc said to listen to my body. About a week or so after that I was back at the gym doing difficult ab work outs in a strength training class. Sometimes I feel like my abs get more sore a lot quicker than they used to, but I've never felt like I was pushing myself too much.

Good luck to you on a speedy recovery, and quickly back to the activities you love. :)

I would have been fine at 6 weeks of it wasn't for my gall bladder. A month after all that, and I've been hiking and everything else. But I'm way out of shape lol. I need to get back to normal.

I'm 12 weeks post csection (this is my 2nd csection). After my 1st csection I didn't start working out (aka talking long walks with my baby) until after 20 weeks. I was too scared to move around and I also didn't feel physically and mentally ready because I was afraid to cause any damage to my abdomen.
After my 2nd csection I began doing workout videos, like 30 day shred, at 10 weeks postpartum. But I think you will know when ur ready to start introducing a workout. Since I have a very active 25 month old and a 12 week old, I made a bigger effort to start moving quicker after my 2nd csection. It also helped that I was in less pain after my 2nd csection. I also have found it to be true what my nurses said after surgery, "that veryday I would need to increase my activity level if I wanted to recover sooner than later".

I was out walking at the park at 5 days postpartum. According to the OB, long walks and stairs were fine. My only restrictions were sit-ups and lifting anything heavier than the baby (in the car seat).

I was cleared for anything at my six week appointment, but I didn't start working out (except for walking) until I was six months postpartum. At that point, I had no problem going right back into the heavy weight training I had done before.

I felt fine much earlier than six months, I was just overwhelmed learning how to take care of a baby!

I was cleared at 6 but now at 16 weeks I still haven't started. I'm too lazy and busy but sometimes I still feel very fragile.

It took me until 8 weeks to be cleared. I did very light cardio, anything involving jumping or intense core work for me was tough for at least another few weeks or months after that.

I was totally fine at 6 weeks. I was pretty active during my recovery and felt like I would have been ok a week earlier even. I definitely took it easier on anything that was tough on the abs or twisting because I felt pulling on the incision and didn't want to risk it. I still feel some pulling during intense ab stuff at 16 months pp though, so I guess that's the new normal!

I had a late October baby and fully admit to by wanting to do a damn thing all winter. I started walking a lot the following spring, but was definitely able to exercise before that. I just didn't. :silly:

I had a planned section with no complications, and a fairly easy recovery. I felt good around 3 weeks but was on restrictions until 6, and was uncomfortable using steps until at least 6-7 weeks PP. We have one story living so I didn't have to use any. I do remember being uncomfortable at thanksgiving (my ILs have a few steps!) and that was about 4w PP.

I was cleared for regular activity at my 6w appointment but still felt a bit icky if I pushed myself wht housework or activities that Christmas, which was closer to 8-9w PP.

I don't think I could have done a whole lot until more like 3 months? But really, I just didn't even try. Ha.

Following! I'm curious when I'll be back to "normal" too. I'm 4.5 weeks pp.

For me, this past week was the first one where I sort of took myself off household restrictions and did as many stairs as I needed to, did some chores, and was up and down off the floor with LO. I have definitely noticed my abs are sore just from that! I'm very curious when I'll be able to like... do yoga again! Or maybe even jog. (Lolz this is all assuming I had an hour free to exercise. which I do not... sigh. hah)

Assuming an uncomplicated recovery, when did you start exercising again and what were you able to do first? How long before you could do all your normal activities?

I'm three weeks PP and expect to be cleared for exercise at 6 weeks, but this was my first ever surgery (and pregnancy) so I'm not sure what sort of timeline I should reasonably expect. I'm eager to get back (eventually) to cycling, jogging, and indoor rock climbing.
