@Maysprout: Also, if you have a rebozo wrap or a moby or even a bed sheet pulled tight you could try some abdominal sifting.

@Maysprout: My husband did the lifting. He pressed pretty firm. He locked his fingers together and pulled up two inches and in two inches he says. It hurt really bad when he did it but bam I felt her turn and labor from there was EASY! You're supposed to bend your knees and sway a bit during the abdominal lift. I did not stroke my stomach or anything afterwards. They say it should work within ten contractions and to be near where you are delivering because it can go so quickly after doing this. I truly believe if I had had a home birth baby could have been out a half hour after doing this - it was crazy. She just dropped right down and during the car ride my two minute contractions spaced out a bit again and it wasn't until I was settled in the hospital that I had another 4-5 contractions before pushing. So keep that in mind - I personally am nervous about the prospect of a delivery in the car or something. ;) Good luck!

@coopsmama: did you lift during the entire contraction? How hard? Did you press in and up? The thing on spinning babies sounds like then after the contraction you stroke downwards on your stomach? I've tried it a few times but not sure I'm doing it right

@Maysprout: Twenty-two hours! I told My husband that I was never doing that again.

@coopsmama: I was going to try the lift but I progressed quickly in the tub and she was out rather quickly.

Yes! The abdominal lift during contractions turned my sunny side up baby during labor. I was having erratic contractions every 15-20 minutes and after two contractions where we did the abdominal lift contractions went to every 2 minutes and she was born an hour and a half later. (This was my third child as well and I delivered med free.)

@avivoca: ugh. I don't want another night of this but that's impressive you did it med free! This is getting old quickly, part of it is just that it's different than my other two so I'm not even sure anything but pain is going on.

@Maysprout: My labor started and stopped. I had two nights of contractions 8-10 minutes apart. My back hurt and my stomach hurt, but they fizzled. I went in for my 41 week appointment and they stripped my membranes, labor started at 12:30 pm and by 2:00 am they were strong contractions with back pain and abdominal pain. My husband or a nurse had to push on my back through every contraction (I delivered med-free). I felt her move down in the tub and rotate once my water was broken.

They manually turned my son - my water was broken and they inserted a tube with saline, then inverted me, then the nurse used her hand to turn him.

I think anything that kinda gets you tummy down and slightly inverted will help.

@avivoca: did you have strong stomach contractions with back pain? I'm having some but besides for my very lower abdomen they don't feel different than BH

@T.H.O.U.: did your labor start and stop a lot before becoming the real deal? I keep getting tons of lower back pressure and even lower stomach pressure with some mild contractions but it's super uncomfortable and then after an hour or two it goes away for a few hours.

Very different than my other two that had clear contractions and progress

Yes. Leaning over with my arms on a counter helped a ton. It didn't turn her but it helped during labor.

That's great your 3cm. My 3rd was super high up there but onceavpr started she came down VERY quickly.

It really helped me to labor bent over with my legs spread to get baby off of my back. I also labored in the tub for an hour-hour and a half, in which I dilated 4 centimeters. But the only thing that got her to turn was breaking my water. I immediately felt her rotate and she was out 15 minutes later.

I called L&D this morning bc I was having such strong back pain. It wasn't really lining up with my stomach contractions, it was constant pain but a lot more strong during very mild contractions, so I wasn't sure what to make of it but man it hurt.

They said he's probably sunny side up and do some exercises from spinning babies to get him to turn and descend. I got checked yesterday and was 3 cm and thin (my due date is in 2 days and this is my third baby) but he was still high.

My contractions have stopped for the past hour and there's lots of stuff on that spinningbabies site so I'm just looking for any success stories and what excercises actually worked in early labor.
