@Beyond2: I really hope he will just take to cows milk soon. He's willing to drink half breast milk and half whole milk from a bottle. Does your LO drink it from a bottle or sippy cup? I hate to be giving him a bottle but I guess one thing at a time. I'll have to try smoothies with him again. He drank some of my green tea frappe from Starbucks and he loved it!

@mrskc: my son totally refused cows milk too, but after a while I was able to introduce smoothies which he liked and in the last week he's started to love cows milk out of no where! I'm 25 weeks pregnant now so I'm assuming my milk is so little now that it makes the cows milk more tolerable. Hang in there and maybe your son will come around. Keep offering periodically would be my best advice.

It's so hard! Luckily we didn't deal with the sickness that you are but at that point in pregnancy my son was nursing 6 times a day ( he was a year old then too) and I was fighting horrible morning sickness. I couldn't eat and lost a ton of weight. I know exactly what you mean about feeling depleted. We cut our nursing sessions slowly back and just recently he's gotten down to 3 times a day. I'm 25 ish weeks pregnant now and while I feel somewhat better it's still really hard. My stomach is starting to shrink with the baby pushing it up and I feel like I can never eat enough to keep up with my body's demand. I don't plan to wean though as DS doesnt seem interested so were making the best of it. I think around 13 weeks pregnant was about the time my milk changed over to more colostrom. So few people understand the demands of nursing and pregnancy and I think that makes it even harder! Hang in there and good luck!!

Lord help me. I'm so tired of nursing and rocking.

I'm so sorry! That sounds so rough. I hope your LO feels better soon and you can get him to night wean. I feel ya on that! DS is 15 months and I'm currently 9 weeks pregnant and he has been such a little boob monster! I don't think it's helping that I think my supply is dropping due to the pregnancy and I can't get him to drink cow's milk. And he's waking up almost every hour wanting to nurse (he's sleeping in our bed). I have got to night wean him / sleep train him soon b/c I can't take much more of it!

hang in there! hugs.

Sorry, Mr. Bee. Wasn't sure if I should post this under pregnancy, breastfeeding, your health or your LO's health.

I'm 13 weeks pregnant, and my LO is still nursing 4x a day or so, plus twice at night. We wanted to night wean him and get him down to nursing 2x a day, but then he got sick.

He's been throwing up off and on since the first. We aren't sure what is wrong. Maybe a GI bug, but now we are thinking it is acid reflux. The doctor says just to keep an eye on him, but she isn't worried.

Twice now we have taken him off solids for 24hrs and done just breastmilk. It's getting a little rough. He is one years old and it's hard to feed him enough. He has been unhappy because he misses food food. And I'm just getting worn out nursing this much.

I feel like I cannot eat enough. I'm hoping he is turned a corner and we can try night weaning next weekend. But holy cow. I just feel depleted.
