Pregnant with a toddler was definitely the worst! It's actually kind of a blur in my mind as to how I got through it...not sure ;)

As someone who is currently 20 weeks pregnant and has a nearly 16 month old, it isn't that bad! I have fairly easy pregnancies with no nausea/vomiting, but the exhaustion does hit. My "normal" bedtime right now is 8-830. Just can't keep my eyes open after that. Luckily, DS goes down at 7 and is an awesome sleeper so he isn't really affected by my early bedtime (DH is a different story!). I do WOH so I am not chasing him around all day, but working. Maybe its harder to SAH with a toddler (depends on my work day!). Anyway, its doable. Now, infanthood with number 2 and DS running around is something I am terrified of!

I don't know how they do it, but I will say that parent tired is worse than ftm pregnancy tired hands down. I don't even think it's close at all. Second time + pregnant/newborn moms must be the most tired but you do what you have to...

Honestly? Disney Jr and PBS. I try very hard to keep it to a minimum, especially since my 4 year-old is in preschool all day 4 days of the week, so I really only have the 2 year-old during most weekdays, but sometimes momma needs a nap so bad she can't see straight. That's how I've gotten through these 39 weeks anyways. And I'm sure it will continue to some extent after #3 is here. But in a year or two, this too shall pass- unless we get knocked up again, lol. Which is not the plan, but this pregnancy wasn't exactly planned either...

It's been a lot harder being pregnant this find around. It was kind of nice that E was so young during my first trimester because he still napped 3x per day and I was able to nap with him. Now that he's a full fledged toddler it's much much harder. I can't wait to give birth largely because of it (even though obviously having the newborn and toddler isn't going to be a walk in the park).

I forgot how crazy first tri exhaustion was until I saw this post! I barely made it through the day at work and usually laid down for a nap the second I walked through the front door!

I also can't imagine running after a baby and being pregnant, but, like everything else, I guess it is just one of those things you do and barely have time to think about how crazy exhausting it is!

I am more exhausted now than I have been in my whole entire life!! But here are the things that have changed now that I'm a parent of 2 toddlers (or, 1 toddler and 1 kid? yikes):

1) I go to bed crazy early. I used to stay up til 1am sometimes. Now if I'm still awake at 11pm, it's a big emergency. Usually I'm in bed by 10:30pm. Some nights, especially Monday nights, I just give up on trying to catch up or do anything fun and I go to bed at 9.

2) Every minute of every day is crazy productive. I look back on my time before kids or as a mom of 1 and I really marvel at how much I get done now vs. back then. I actually cook now, when back then I didn't have time or energy. But it's out of necessity now (getting takeout every day for 4 gets expensive AND exhausting to think about!) so I think that gives you a boost of motivation, when you have no choice!!

3) Wagon Jr. is a LOT more self-sufficient now. I lay out his clothes so he dresses himself, he never needs us at the potty anymore (only for really messy poops for wiping), he washes his hands by himself, eats by himself... There is very little hands-on time with him that is not just playing or spending time together.

4) Wagon Sr. and I have had almost 4 years of perfecting this dance of teamwork with two kids. We've made sacrifices to be able to be on the same schedule, so we're always two parents vs. two kids. It's rare that one of us is alone with both kids. So that obviously works hugely to our advantage.

5) I never feel guilty when completing housework when the kids are around. I used to think that if the kids are awake, I should be playing with them. Now I don't hesitate to finish the dishes or cleaning up from dinner. It only takes a few minutes and then I can be totally free and clear to play with them.

But I will say this... both kids are in a good place sleep wise, and that makes a HUGE difference.

@winniebee: Ugh, I am also a terrible sleeper. There is not a night that goes by when I don't wake up at least 2-3 times for no reason. When I was pregnant with #2 this was even worse and I was tired all day long. I am dreading having to go through the first tri for a third time, but like @littlek I am excited and hope it happens soon. Crazy! lol.

I am nuts and clearly I don't understand where babies come from (I'm expecting my third).

JUST KIDDING! It is tough, but you make due. The first trimester with a toddler and preschooler running around was hard, but I think the newborn phase is harder. The only difference is with a newborn I can be a hot mess and no one cares, in your first trimester you have to pretend you are alright!

Looking back, I slept most of my pregnancy away. I worked from home frequently, got up late, took lunchtime naps....and still felt tired!

Honestly, being pregnant with #2 and caring for a toddler, I feel as if I've never been this exhausted in my life, and that's coming from someone who's been through the newborn stage. However, honestly, hard is hard, and ranking it doesn't do any good. You're doing a hard job, as all parents are. I hope you get some much needed rest soon!

Well, from someone who is currently 28 weeks pregnant and chasing around a 16 month old, I'll just say it is really, really tough some days. Today being one of those days. The first tri was awful when it came to exhaustion - I felt like the world's worst mother as I had zero energy to do anything with my LO other than snuggle with her. After 12 weeks or so, it got much better but there are definitely days where I just lay on the floor and let her play around me whilst I half-doze... I'm looking forward to being done with pregnancy so I can feel like myself again and actually play with my LO like I want to.

I'm really exhausted today though so I may be a bit whingier than I normally would be. :-/

Ugh... having one of those totally drained and exhausted nights. Made me think of a comparison.

First trimester pregnancy exhaustion was no joke. But I think my "new parent adrenaline" has started to wear off. Though, at 8 months, I guess it's not so new. I've been having more and more of those, just-wanna-pass-out nights. I almost miss pregnancy exhaustion, when I could sleep as much as I want to.

Scares me to death of what happens when you're pregnant with your 2nd (or more) AND you have to take care of a LO! I see people on FB and out shopping with 3-4 kids! Ahhh! How do you guys do it?
