It never fully covers the bill (dining out is expensive) but it still feels nice/special for us. And it’s basically the only (non-target, non-amazon) gift card I actually use. A little boring relative to classes, etc. but something you know they’ll like.</p> <p>Alternately, DH and I do experience gifts for each other for most things and some highlights over the years have been hang gliding, a rally driving lesson, a guided foraging hike where we foraged mushrooms and ramps and some other things and then made a meal, a behind the scenes experience at the Shedd aquarium (could also work at a zoo). Anything you've particularly enjoyed giving or receiving? I'm trying to come up with a Christmas gift idea for my brother and sister in law. They live in a tiny condo, just went through some major decluttering projects there, plus are talking about moving abroad for work in the next year so I'm trying to avoid giving "stuff" at this stage. In years past, we've done things like a gift certificate for a baking class or a gift certificate for a cocktail-making class. I'm on the hunt for some fresh ideas though. :) </p>
