I pulled it out ASAP and propped it up with the charging slot on the bottom, hoping any water would drain out. It started pouring and we ran under the bleachers. I realized it had fallen out once I got down there. Like others, a bag of rice for 24 hours and it worked again. I second the bag of rice - once I ran DH's phone through the washing machine and it still worked (subpar) after 24 hours in a bag of rice. Bag of rice ASAP and look into local companies that do water damage fixes. Usually they take the phone apart and then stick it into a dehydrator. It worked great for my husband just recently. Dropped his phone in the pool and we both thought for sure to was fried. I've been hydrating as much as I can and taking daily baths to help. When DS was napping today I took a bath and grabbed my phone to check the time when I dropped it in the water. It sank about half way down before I was able to grab it. It restarted itself and went into safe mode then different options started turning themselves on and off. I pulled the back off and the battery out. I emailed DH and he said to put it in a ziplock bag with one of our rechargeable dehumidifiers we use in our gun safe. I'm so upset with myself. While I am annoyed at myself for possibly ruining the phone, the bigger problem is we never backed up the photos or videos saved to the phone's memory before I finally added a SD card (even though it has been on the to-do list plenty of times and we've backed the SD card up). I keep crying and thinking of my son's baby pictures on there and videos of him that I don't have anywhere else. </p> <p>Does anyone have experience with dropping their phones in water and what was the result? Even if the phone is ruined is there any way to get the photos and videos off? </p>
