My dd (2 yrs) just had a uti and she had a really high fever for a week and was very very obviously ill. Like wouldnt walk, eat or drink fluids. No vomiting though. and in retrospect, she would start screaming/crying in pain randomly and now I think its when she peed.

Just wondering if anyone has any experience with UTIs in your infant and/or toddler. If so, what were the symptoms like? How did you know it was UTI, or what signaled you to look into it?

Ever since DD had the ability to roll to her side, she has done this weird thing where she lays propped on her left side and tenses her body up. Sometimes she grunts. Sometimes she seems uncomfortable. Other times she just does it while she's playing with something. I used to think she was trying to poop but she does it even after pooping. We went to see a GI who didn't think anything was wrong. Her 2 different peds have said maybe it's her feeling the gas/food move through her tummy. I just don't think that's right though. My gut has always felt like it was something else.

Now that she's 2.5 and more verbal I try asking her why she's doing it. Recently if I ask if she hurts or has an "owie" she'll point to her crotch. I'm wondering if it's painful to pee? She's had no fevers and otherwise seems fine. And if I ask her to sit normally she will stop the side lying thing and sit normally.

Any ideas?
