@Mrs.M57 - here are some foods we started off with...

- really thinly sliced apples and peaches (like a shoestring fry)
- bread cut into finger-sized rectangles (and i would spread some veggie or fruit purees on them to make it tastier).
- sliced bananas and avocados.
- spaghetti using rotini pasta.
- scrambled egg yolks

i know there's more but my brain isn't functioning right now!

yes - we started around 6-7 months and i'm glad we chose to go that route! it was messy at first and a lot of food was wasted, but in the early months they're still mostly on milk and practicing with food so it's ok if they don't eat a lot of it. it got easier and easier as the months went by cuz we could just put a few things on her tray and she'll eat while we ate along with her. it made going to restaurants really enjoyable too... no need to sit and spoonfeed her and take turns eating or anything like that.

highly recommend it!

I think BLW recommends waiting until 6 months to start? You can start solids at 4 months but you should check with your Pedi first. Often they still have bad tongue reflex and just spit most of it out.

As my little one approaches 4 months(next wednesday :-)) and is starting to look at my food with curiosity, I've started researching when/how to start solids. I came across a lot of info on Baby Led Weaning, something that I never knew about previously, but sounds kind of great!

Anyone have experience with baby led weaning with their little one?
