I had to travel for work several times (including an international trip) in my first trimester. Lots of water, snacks that make your stomach feel good (for me it was oyster crackers and ginger chews), and making sure you can get some solid sleep are all key! For the airplane, compression socks for a longer flight and lots of water! It wasn't ideal, but it wasn't too terrible.

I travelled across the country at about 10 weeks. I was definitely tired and needed to plan extra time for breaks and took snacks with me everywhere. I even took a nap in the car in a parking lot at one point haha. I had pretty bad "morning" sickness but it didn't interfere too much.

We went to Glacier and Yellowstone National Parks when I was 6-7 weeks pregnant. We were camping and had to change plans for eating a couple times due to food aversions and nausea, but other than that I had a great time. I generally felt good first trimester, just queasy, and keeping busy and active was a good distraction.

I traveled from 7-11 weeks in SE Asia. I didn't have morning sickness with puking, but I felt like I was hungover. Since we were in a tropical climate, I was worried about staying hydrated. I was also concerned about food hygiene and NOTHING sounded good to me, so I ate a lot of plain rice and grilled chicken.

I flew at 9 weeks, the peak of my morning sickness, and it did suck. But the biggest thing I learned was pack tons of snacks and do NOT put them in the overhead bin then forget to take them out until the fasten seatbelt sign is on for landing. I felt so sick because I was hungry and landing took forever. If I'd have kept snacking I would have been slightly better.

I went to Vegas at 11 weeks pregnant with my first. It was planned before I knew I would be pregnant. I was tired the entire trip, but otherwise it was ok!

I flew at like 5 weeks pregnant and to say it was HORRIBLE is a huge understatement. Non-stop throwing up the entire flight. Mostly non-stop throwing up the entire vacation.

I traveled with both of my other pregnancies early in the first trimester, no problem. With my first we went to Florida, so a pretty short flight, and super uneventful. With my second, we went to Greece, all in all a 24 hour flight/travel time each way, and it was EXHAUSTING, but I don't think much different from if I wasn't pregnant.
We are going to Hawaii this weekend, and I will be almost 10 weeks, and I am not looking forward to the flight, but mostly because I am worried about keeping my 14 month old happy.

I was 10 weeks so full blown morning sickness ( I wasn't actually vomiting though I just felt like it all the time)

I had a great time the first two days, but the second two days I got the stomach flu and it was awful

hotels are hard to be sick in, but if I wouldn't have gotten sick I would have been great

snacks are a big deal though as you don't want to have to buy them all the time so pack extra in your suitcase, have a great trip!

We are leaving in one week for Disney and I'll be about 6.5 weeks along. The original plan was to wait to TTC until after we got back but...oops. :) I have generally avoided travel in the first tri due to morning sickness and my history of loss so I'm a bit stressed right now. My only other experience traveling in the first tri was between 5 and 6 weeks (with my now LO). My morning sickness with her wasn't nearly as bad as with my other pregnancies so I lucked out. I'm not feeling terrible right now so I'm hoping we luck out this time too.

What have your early pregnancy travel experiences been like? Did you enjoy it or regret it?
