LO was born around thanksgiving as well so I just took a picture of her sleeping when she was a week old and popped it onto a birth announcement/holiday template on shutterfly. with the coupon codes etc you can get a good deal, but I do think it is totally your call.</p> <p>I also think that if you send them in a few months, people will still be happy to get them. All in all I got 40 with envelopes and address stickers for $35. They aren't keen on posting their child's full name or photographs of their children online. So it makes a lot of sense in that situation. (b) Also, a lot of people have relatives that live far away and don't use facebook or email (older relatives, usually). These also happen to be a lot of the same people who came to my baby showers and who are genuinely interested in our lives. I felt it was a nice way to let them know that DD had arrived.</p> <p>To me it's also just a nice, formal, traditional way of announcing your baby's arrival in the world. FB is great for sharing photos and all, but I think there's something nice about getting something you can touch and put up on your fridge in the mail--something that isn't a bill, anyway!
