@caffeinated: On a good night LO will sleep for 8 hours straight! and still no leaks. You should definitely try them at night. and I love how fast they dry once they come out of the wash

@Mrsbells: We have Freetime diapers as well, but i'm debating whether to switch DD to them from disposables at night. How long are you able to keep you LO in them?

Yes when we use disposables we have this problem, which is why I love our cloth diapers especially at night. Bum Genius Freetime diapers are amazing. We always have some pampers swaddlers on hand just in case but lately I think they are useless. we were also given lots of huggies diapers as gifts but I'm not looking forwards to trying huggies because I heard they are worse than pampers.

I have to second cloth diapers (you could just buy a couple of shells to go over the sposies and contain mess). I have never had poop on clothes. Our only pooplosion was in a sposie in his carseat at 3 weeks old.

Sawyer has that issue every time we put him in disposable diapers (we use them for travel, but use cloth otherwise). It is maddening.

@MungBean: I think even if it's cloudy "sunning" may help! I've heard that even doing it inside near an open window and in in-direct sunlight. Totally worth a shot!

@MungBean: I was amazed at the magical wonders of line-drying. I had some nasty stained diapers that disappeared from my diapers when i hung them out in the sun.

My LO has the biggest poops in the morning! A friend of mine suggested pressing down the top of the diaper when she's about to poop, and that could help contain some of the explosion.

@SweetT @ Runsyellowlites: Hmm, I think she's in the right size... she's about 13.5 LBS and in size 2 (which I think is supposed to fit up to 17 LBS). I think size 3 starts at 16 LBS, but maybe I'll just try anyways?

@skibobrown: As much as I would love to try cloth diapers, I don't think I could do with right now :( I have heard that they tend to be sturdier than disposables, though. That's a great tip about drying out in the sun! Unfortunately, I'm in WA where we get like, no sun, but I think it's supposed to be sunny this week (finally!) so I'll have to try it out :)

@Honeybee: Her poop schedules are all over the place, so I don't think that would work. Today she pooped while we were sleeping in my bed in the AM, and now I have this huge poop stain on my bed. So lovely :P

Is her pooping regular enough that you can put her over the potty instead of letting her poop in her diaper? If she poops at about the same time every day or gives off any signals (getting really still/quiet, grunting/straining, etc...) holding her over the potty to poop might be easier to clean up.

DS used to have blowouts with every poop, but it pretty much stopped completely once he got into size 2 diapers. Maybe she needs the next size up?

I've heard trying a size up might help like @Sweet T suggested.

I used to have that issue with DS when he was little... so far we haven't had any blow outs with DD in cloth. *knock on wood*

It's probably not worth it to you to switch to cloth... but in case it is, I have *never* had a blowout w/ our cloth diapers. I think they're just sturdier than disposables b/c they have to last for much, much longer.

To get the poop stains out, try drying your daughter's clothes out in the sun. The sunlight bleaches the stains right out.

My LO (almost 5 months) usually has one gigantic poop a day. And when I say gigantic... I mean, GIGANTIC. Like, poop-up-to-the-back-of-her-neck-I-need-backup gigantic. I'd say at least 8 out of 10 diapers end up not containing the mess. I don't think it's the brand, because I've tried almost everything and they all leaked. Anyone else have this problem? I feel like all her cute clothes are getting ruined with all these yucky poopoo stains :(
