After having Lala, she went on all my business trips until she was 2. Now I'm traveling solo because I do it so often. I am so excited to be here (sunny and hot South Florida!) and happy to get started, but I am also really nervous. This is my first trip of the job (I work in higher education and began at a new school last year) and I am just hoping it goes well. I have always wanted to travel for work and almost cannot believe I get to do this in my current capacity! Much of my work revolves around international education, so I am also scheduled to be heading on to England next week too for a conference. </p> <p>Also, this is going to be the longest that I have ever been away from my husband, over the more than 7 years we've been together! I love travel, but it seems so strange, even on Day 1, to know that I will be away front home for so long. While I am feeling well, I am also somewhat hesitant to be gone for so long during pregnancy (I'm 22 weeks). </p> <p>Any strategies you have to make extended work travel "work" for you? </p>
