I HATED mine! I find it didn't stick at all on even our totally smooth island and no matter how much I rinsed it, it still had a soapy taste to it.

@Mrs. Pickle: D just tries to dump it all out for the dog. And then cry because he's hungry. Come on man.

@Truth Bombs: we have the mini one. It's harder for her to get it up off of the kitchen counters than the dining room table, so I think it's mostly because of my table. Once she signs all done she likes to immediately flip her plate.

@birdofafeather: @Mrs. Pickle: @Jennibenni: Yeah my son was smart enough with the large one to just peel from the corner pretty darn quickly. But with the mini mat the whole thing is round and the edge around the "plate" part is pretty small so we have much better success with that one!

@birdofafeather: weird. I guess if you tried positioning a few times then it must not be smooth enough? I put it on our veneer table when I bought it and pulled it up right away, but then repositioned and pushed on all the parts of it and it stuck great. My friend has a handmade wooden table and it sticks to hers fine, but t must be an individual table issue. :(.

Auction cup bowls and plates are often hit or miss!

My daughter will peel it off from the edges now though so I feel it's best for younger babies.

@Truth Bombs: also, i get white spots with hard water, so it's usually just something i have to deal with, unless i buff the item, which would be hard with soft plastic.

@birdofafeather: my son can pull ours up no problem. I hardly use it because it's not much different than other plates and is a bigger job to wash.

@T.H.O.U.: it grips for a moment, and then she can just lift it up by the plate part. our table is a week old and has a seal on it, but it's not perfectly smooth since it is wood. but i thought it was as close as you can get with a regular table! i mean, if it's normal, then i feel like it's not the magical thing i thought it was!

@birdofafeather: Did she peel it up from the corner? If so thats normal. If she could pull on the "plate" part and lift then you dont have a good enough grip to your table. Is your table smooth?

ok, tangent, we just got one yesterday because DD2 has been tossing her plates around... well, she could pick it right up off the wood table we have! is that normal?? i thought it was gonna lock it down. so if it doesn't, then it's being returned. sorry for the thread jack, but since you like them, i want to know why! @Truth Bombs:

I had the same problem. I think it's partly our water as we also get white spots on the facet and the fridge water dispenser. Hand drying helped.

We recently bought a few EZPZ mats because my little dude loves to throw stuff on the floor for the dog. For the most part, but we've been really happy with them. However, despite always hand washing them with dawn, and rinsing really well, they often dry with spots of white residue. Did anyone else have this problem and if so, did you find a solution?
