I just wanted to come back and update - we ordered more masks from vistaprint since we loved the ones we had. But the new ones are completely different: thinner more slippery fabric, poor stitching, nose bridge piece is flimsy, and part that goes under the chin doesn’t have the same structure to it, and the shape/size of the masks are very inconsistent. We are incredibly disappointed. I can no longer recommend them based on the new ones - sorry if people get them and are disappointed!

These have been our favorite masks: Hedley and Bennett Wake Up and Fight masks. Not only do they have a thin piece of metal sewn in at the nose to help it close that gap and work better, but for every mask purchased, they donate a mask to a first responder. We both think they're really comfortable and easy to wear.

Thanks everyone!!!

I tried my old navy one today and was genuinely surprised at how it held up not falling down while talking.

I am going to check out those OAD ones - I have been trying to find that ear style and had no idea what to google to find it!

I've been back teaching for two months. The only thing I have found that I can teach for my 8-11 hour shifts in is disposable ones. But different brands are sized and shaped slightly differently. I like the ICU brand. But I agree that the best of my cloth masks are the pleated ones that have a metal nose bridge.

We have these for adults and kids and they are great https://www.oadnewyork.com/pages/oad-face-masks-1

I find these comfortable where most other masks are huge on my face.

The pleated style with a nose wire is the best (like old navy kind) and I bought ours from a local seamstress to support her business. However, I do have to wear a mask all day at work and the disposable ones are so much more comfortable for talking. I feel terrible for the environment but it’s the best option. Twisting the ear loops help them stay in place if you have a smaller face. Also as for the ponytail all day: I have tried to wear my hair down but it is so hot and uncomfortable while wearing a mask (with glasses too in my case) so I’ve worn a bun or pony every day for the past month.

I realize this doesn't exactly help you but the mask I have my mom made for me. But the reason why I like it is that she sewed a pipe cleaner in the top. That way, I can pinch it to fit around my nose to get a better seal. I think that is the key to it being comfortable and it not slipping when wearing for a long time and talking. They also don't fog up when I wear my sunglasses. So if you can find one that has a sort of wire in the top, that will help.

I wonder if these would be a good fit for you - they were too big for my kids but fit me (relatively narrow face - I can wear kids glasses) snugly. They’re boring, but pretty comfortable.

The Old Navy and Gap masks are probably my favorites. Gap has nose wires, Old Navy does not. Both go over my chin and aren’t tight over my lips, so talking is easy. The Boden masks I bought as a birthday gift to myself are by far the worst. They look pretty and the fabric is soft, but it clings badly to my mouth when I try to speak (I wore one to DD’s physical not knowing this!).

ETA: for me, crisper fabric and a pleated style mask is more comfortable than the “shaped” mask and softer/stretchier material.

Our favorite masks (so far) have been the vistaprint ones - for kids and adults. I feel like I am bringing them up a lot, but we really do like them. I only have to wear them for short errands. But DH wears his 9+ hours five days a week, at a job where he has to talk to people pretty constantly.

We like the overall shape, it kind of goes under your chin, which helps it stay in place with lots of talking. The ear straps are soft and adjustable. It has the flexible nose bridge.

Anybody finding a face mask that they love and can talk a lot in?

I've realized the masks I love are great when I go to the grocery store ... where smiling is the most facial movement that happens really.

When I wear them and try to hold a conversation for any extended period of time they slip down and are not functioning without fiddling.

A friend suggested I buy over the head elastic ones instead of over the ear (I've been putting on my ear ones by twisting the elastic to make them tighter already.) However this friend is a man who shaves his head. Looking for some advice from women......

I have shoulder length curly hair and I'm a teacher. I'm hoping not to have to wear a pony tail daily come fall just so I can get a mask to fit and not get all tangled up. :( [Pony tails give me a headache]

In the end, my priority is being safe with wearing a mask... any advice fellow mammas?
