Same thing here and I think it's for the same reason as the other previous posters said, slower flow than he would like. LO got too used to bottles during the day, even though they are slow flow it is still almost always easier for babies to drink from a bottle than a breast.

@travellingbee: I agree with some of the other ladies that he might be made because the flow is slower than he likes :silly: I had over active letdown and over supply with my DD and she used to do this kind of stuff when the milk stopped pouring out lol. Maybe try doing compressions when he gets like that to see if he is just looking for more milk! Silly babies

I feel my let down and have very good supply so I don't think it's a supply issue per se. But it might be once things aren't flowing as quickly? Not sure. Yes it is super annoying @hilsy85:

might he be getting mad when the letdown slows down?? Mine started doing some weird things around 5 months too - but I felt like he was just more 'aware', change in letdown, noticing things around him; sounds, noises, etc....

My DS did this for a while around 4/5 months...no idea why. It was super annoying, but it passed--but then he just became a really distracted nurser. Is it possible your letdown is slow?

My five month old has been pretty fussy at the breast lately. I think he's teething but not sure. He drools a lot but I don't see anything coming through the gums yet. Lately he has been smashing his face into my breast multiple times after he's been eating for a few minutes. Then he will clampdown and I have to pull him off. I don't remember my first doing this face smashing into the breast thing. Not sure what it could be from. He seems upset or uncomfortable when he does it… Anyone else have a baby do this and figure out why?
