I recently, after giving Arbonne a try, discovered the "Paulas Choice" range of skincare, and i'll never go back to anything else. She has some fantastic stuff for all skintypes.

@jetsa: yeah it doesn't hurt to try! Especially in the winter, my face really reacts to washing.

Try the Oil Cleansing Method. It might seem counterintuitive but it is the best thing that I've done for my oily skin. I wash my face with grapeseed oil every night and my skin looks a million times better than it used to (even got a compliment from a woman who gave me a facial). Basically, what you are doing right now with your cleansing routine is stripping your skin of its natural oils and so it is overproducing to make up for it.

@MoonMoon: I actually just started washing more and have been breaking out more. I never considered that I could be causing it, hmm. Well that is an easy and inexpensive thing to test :).

Have you tried oil cleansing, or washing your face less? For me, it helped to only wash my face with soap cleanser a few times a week and use only cool water other times.

I use eye make-up remover from Mary Kay, and face wipes (sensitive skin ones from Target.) Then at night I wash my face with Cetaphil and moisturize. In the mornings I wash with Mary Kay Timewise (only thing that doesn't make me react) and use their CC cream as foundation. It works for me and I have super sensitive skin.

I use basic cetaphil and a Renee Rouleau toner. Once a week I use a clarisonic brush. Shesheido moisturiser. No face makeup, just blush

I was breaking out like a teenager until I completely changed my skincare routine and stopped using harsh chemicals and cleansers.

I use burts bees radiance face wash, pat dry then apply Ava Anderson hyaluronic acid, moisturizer and bb cream. I don't let anything else touch my face! My acne is completely under control and skin in super smooth. It's super amazing. I do the same thing at night minus the bb cream.

I love the Ava Anderson cleanser too, but apparently I use too much because I was running out all the time and I would supplement with the burts bees wash.

I would go and see a dermatologist. I thought I had oily, acne prone skin and instead, I have sensitive, normal skin with rosacea!

I like very basic products, things like cetaphil for washing, with a mild exfoliator once a week.

I can't join the raves for the Clarisonic. I have one but I don't use it because my skin is so sensitive. I was never impressed with it.

I wear makeup everyday, so I remove my makeup with an oil based cleanser (Banila Clean it Zero), use a gentle foaming cleanser, spot clean with extra eye makeup remover if needed, Paula's Choice 2% BHA then moisturize.

That is my routine and I'm fairly happy with it but it's hard to say what will work for someone else. I've learned a few things from this community:

Because its still warm where I live, I wash my face with Missha Super Aqua (Korean cleanser available at Amazon) at night, exfoliating instead a few times a week. Then I moisturize with Kiehl's 24 Hour Ultra Facial Cream and go to sleep. In the morning, I just slap a little water on my face and if needed, a dab more Kiehl's cream, and then proceed with my makeup.

If its dry/colder, then I may moisturize twice (still only washing my face once) and I switch to the original Cetaphil cleanser (the kind that doesn't foam).

*ETA: I use Clinique Perfectly Real foundation - its SUPER sheer and light and has never given me any problems. I have more problems with BB creams than anything else.

I'm going to second the Clarisonic Mia. I always had bad skin but started using the Mia in the shower every morning and my skin is clear and looks good. I still have some blotchiness but a little powder clears that right up. :)

I'm here for solidarity. I turn 30 on Saturday and my skin is the worst it's ever been. I found that I break out more using the Maybelline BB cream, so I stopped using that. Currently, I'm using Say Yes to Cucumbers Cleansing Milk and Alba Botanica Hawaiian oil-free moisturizer. There is a Fresh moisturizer that I want to try, but I'd like to keep my products at easy to get to places like Target and Kroger.

I use Fresh face wash, which claims to be good for all skin types.

I used to use Clinique, but their toner gives me major burny face.

I use clinique products. My skin has gone through stages and they have always been able to find me the perfect product. I have never had a bad reaction to any of their products. I currently (33) use the Turnaround line along with their liquid cleanser at night.

I second @catlady: on the Mia...I love mine!

Some of the things I use that seem to help my skin (which I've been battling since I was a teen) are:
- Clarisonic - can't recommend this highly enough, I absolutely love it. I have the cheaper Mia and it still works great.
- AHA or BHA - I use Paula's Choice. You need to experiment a bit to see which type (liquid, gel) and concentration works best for you. I use 8% AHA gel every night and it makes a big difference. Many people wear by BHA though.

I am breaking out worse now than when I was a teenager and I need a new skincare routine.

I wear Maybelline Dream Pure BB 8-in-1 Beauty Balm Skin Clearing Perfector 1-2 a week and go bare faced every other day so I do not think its the makeup.

Currently I am just using Cetaphil DermaControl Oil Control Foam Wash day and night and it is not helping.

Help me please! I turn 30  in April and would love to get this under control.
