UGH! A girl I know from high school (who I have always kind of competed with...) just posted her pregnancy news. She's due in the month that I really really wanted.... *sigh*

I thought I was in the clear with pregnancy announcements for a little while because basically everyone I know just had their second baby this year, but nope!

If they don't pass the "have I talked to you in a year/will I ever talk to you outside of Facebook again" test I take the opportunity to just delete them. I don't wish them ill, it's just an easier way to clean up my Facebook friends. If they're obnoxious but related or closer friends I'll hide their feed. After awhile you honestly forget about it/them. No need to make an already difficult and emotional process more torturous!
@Chibee @foodnerd81 I totally do the same thing thinking "we have been so much more responsible and are more ready than they are" I hate when I think that way which is why I delete or hide them

Oh I'm happy when people post their personal life on Facebook so I can stalk without having to interact! Hahaa! :) I just hate the people who give play by play status updates of their everyday activities.

Only the people who obnoxiously post the weekly fetus updates and every single "woe is me, i don't feel well!" posts. I just get tired of it.

@dagret: I've tried to remove those as well :) But only because they tempt me to make purchases that I shouldn't make, just yet :)

@chibee: Ok, no. Not continually :) But I can definitely spend several hours at a time reading about pregnancy online. I seriously need a vacation with no access to the internet.

@sweetooth: but do you continually do it? because i do. sometimes I go through pics of positive pregnancy tests on countdowntopregnancy.com for like an hour, wondering what it'll be like when i finally get one myself. I honestly am my own worst enemy.

@sweetooth: Yes. Only the ones who were constantly talking about it though. I felt like the pinterest baby boards were more painful though.

@chibee: I just have no willpower. Once I find out the news I look through their photos too and get depressed.

@Foodnerd81: It's definitely the time in life where this news isn't unexpected, that's for sure. I think it's just crazy how FB makes it feel like there are SO many pregnant people, you know? 5 years ago it wouldn't be as easy to know this much about everyone.

@foodnerd81: omg i totally do the same thing - and I get all "and i BET they weren't even trying" and get pissy and basically just really bratty - can't help myself either!

@chibee: No I do the same thing. Then sometimes I would get all judgey, while we were still waiting to start trying-- like, sheesh, we are in such a better position to have a baby than them, why are they doing it first? SO none of my business, but I can't control the thoughts like that sometimes.

I haven't gone as far as hiding them, but I definitely have a new "we're pregnant!" post every week or so. I know it's just the age I'm at, but it's just unbelievable how many of my friends (facebook and 'real') are having babies right now!

I've thought about hiding a couple people, but in the end, laziness won out. I also like to torture myself and look up the pregnant girls on my facebook on purpose and look through their pics and depress myself though. So I'm not the norm here.

Ever since I hit the year mark of trying to conceive (and now passed it by several months) it's been hard to see the neverending Facebook "we're pregnant!" posts. I did my best to go through and hide all of my friends who may potentially share the news.

I don't know why I do this to myself, but I just checked in on a few of those friends that I had hidden and yep! MORE baby news. I really am happy for them, but it never gets easier to hear the news. Especially when it's all I've wanted for 16 months now.

Does anyone else hide friends on FB to avoid pregnancy news and updates?
