Thanks, I'mgoing to call my doc on monday and ask about going up to 100mg for the next dose. Just dissapointed that 50mg worked last time but not this time and wasnt sure the "next steps" after a failed round since I've never had one before

I agree with @ladybee. Definitely have an open line of communication with your dr about upping your dosage.

Have you asked about Metformin? I used it in combination with Clomid. I don't have insulin resistance but I have heard it's been particularly helpful for those who do. Again in combo with Clomid. I would ask for 100mg of Clomid and monitor through OPKs to see if you're ovulating.

I would wait and see if your period starts on it's own. If I got to CD 40, I would ask for progesterone to make it start and ask for 100mg of Clomid.

I have insulin resistant PCOS with super-long (100+ days without intervention) cycles and likely not ovulating.

with my DD, i did metformin for 3 months, progesterone to induce period, 50 mg of clomid on days 3-7 and got pregnant the first round! I was very lucky!

This time I weaned from breastfeeding, did clomid for 3 months, never got a period since DD was born (15 months) so it was induced by progesterone and then took 50mg of clomid on 3-7 again. This time i don't think i got a clearly positive OPK and now on about 12 dpo (aprox based on when i maybe ovulated) i got a negative.

I'm going to keep taking tests for a few days, but assuming they're all negative what are my next steps? Ask the doc for more progesterone and keep at the 50mg level for clomid or try to up it? I didn't do any monitoring because I was out of the country (both the cycle i got pregnant with my daughter and this cycle)
