DS2 did best with the MAM bottles as well and had zero issues switching between that and the breast. Its the bottle most of my EBF friends seem to have the most luck with.

@maddyz: I have been using a comotomo bottle, a Nuk type, and the plain dr brown nipples. I think she’s actually had the most success with dr brown nipples. I haven’t even broken out the big box of bottles I tried with my son, dr brown with all the parts (no way!!!) and who knows what else!

@Ms.Mermaid: he totally needs to but he hasn’t much success even when she was doing better, I am just a lot more experienced with bottle feeding and babies in general. In the evenings, she can be so fussy I feel like it’s hard enough for me to keep her calm. I think the walk is a great idea though, it will just be a challenge to keep my son from insisting on going. I also need to try a morning outing with my son on the weekends when baby girl is in her best mood.

@peachykeen: I have noticed she likes really hot bottles! I almost wish she was going to day care because at least they would have more experience with bottle feeding in general. She’ll be at home with my husband. You just inspired me to absolutely get on track with two bottles a day. I’ll try the morning one and evening one with my husband as well.

My bottle disliking baby just nursed all night instead of taking a bottle, not ideal but it worked. Also, he would NEVER take a bottle if the real thing was anywhere near by. There was also a big shift from 4 months (no bottles) to 6 months (some bottles). We also did that thing where we tried 12 different bottles... but in the end i just went with the simple nuke ones because i couldn't handle all the parts with most of them.

This sounds exactly like DD2 who is almost 7 months now. I was trying to give her a bottle every day and upped that to 2 bottles per day in the 2 weeks before starting daycare because she was so resistant. She still hated it, but she would usually take the one bottle eventually BUT she backslid if we skipped even one bottle.

The positive is that she now does take her bottles from the daycare workers pretty well. She 100% refuses to take a bottle from me and will only take a bottle from DH under certain conditions and if she believes I'm not around.

Daycare helped us realize the key to getting her to drink the bottle is the temperature - for DD2 it has to be way hotter than you'd think a baby should drink a bottle. She recently started being able to hold her own bottle and I think that will help DH when he is alone with her as well because she likes to be in control.

Good luck! This was so stressful for me leading up to daycare and still an inconvenience since she won't take a bottle at home, but for us it definitely got better  :goodluck:

We had the most luck with the MAM bottles. My daughter outgrew the bottle refusal around 6/7 months which was good. Is your husband working on bottle training? I know for some people that helps - especially if Mom leaves the house. Maybe he could take the baby for a walk while you make dinner and offer her a bottle then? It sounds like this is something he needs to be working on with you.

I told myself I wouldn’t make the same mistakes this time as with my first (my son basically never took to the bottle and it really stressed me out, he would take basically 3 oz total in 10 hours and reverse cycle for the rest of the night) but here I am with an almost 4m old who is pretty much refusing the bottle!
She actually was supplemented too the first few days when I was waiting for my milk to come in! And did great. I tried my best to keep it up but it’s been once a week at most and many times unsuccessful.

I’ll be going back to work starting in may and she will have just turned 6m, so I know solids will help but I don’t want to rely on this. I just want a normal baby who takes a bottle (lol) while still nursing the rest of the time. I am happy to pump more before leave ends but I don’t want to have to pump st home when I go back to work! I also nurse frequently on demand and I am not into scheduling feeds (too much mind work)

Any tips? I’ve been trying to do the bottle earlier in the day when she’s in a happier mood and has taken a nice long nap. It’s just hard to be consistent since she doesn’t always take a long nap, and who knows what my 3yo is up to. I was thinking about pumping during my breakfast and giving her a bottle when she wakes up from her morning nap. And trying to put her down for next nap without nursing. When I go back to work, I’ll be gone from 2-midnight and I am so stressed about imagining my husband manage both the kids. He can’t even hold the baby for 15 min while I make dinner before she starts screaming and I get stressed and snap st everyone. Help!!!
