I didn't get a positive until day AF was due, which was 12dp. And it was faint. 17 weeks pregnant today. I'm in the camp that a line is a line, and I'm not concerned unless my doctor is. I also stopped peeing on sticks after my positive, the test doesn't tell you how much hcg is in your system, just that it detects it. Congrats on your bfp!

I'm in the minority, but the one time I've been pregnant, I didn't get a positive at 11dpo but did at 14dpo, and even then it was pretty light. I guess I could have ovulated later than I thought, but I was already basing it on a later than normal (though normal for me) ovulation date. And I have a healthy 17 month old now! Good luck to you!

Of 3 pregnancies, the only successful one was the latest :bfp: (13dpo I think). So don't worry if you can help it, and try to believe in your pregnancy.

@Novbaby1112: I would get my first squinter around 9 or 10 dpo, and by 14 or 15 dpo the tests would stop progressing (but by then I always had my hcg drawn and knew things weren't going well). From that point it would take another 4 or 5 days before I started bleeding. But again, hopefully this won't be the case for you. Good luck!!

I am hunting for my pictures, but so far I have tested 2 pregnancies and it has gone both ways. Last fall I had a chemical pregnancy and didn't test. So the next one I tested. I got a positive very lightly 6 days after a 5 day transfer (so that would like 11 dpo I think). It stayed light until after I was told it was negative at the beta test. I also had 2 FRER day 9 and day 10 past 5 day and the second FRER was lighter.

So this time around I tested my trigger out and got a positive around 10dpo again a squinter but absolutely for certain this time. Did a test every day and went in for my beta at 13dpo. I was convinced it was going to go down because the line hadn't darkened and the FRER got lighter. That one stuck. I have my progressions if you want them.

So far, I have never gotten dark lines on a FRER or a wondfo ever. I have my friends progression for her sticky pregnancy and it was light for a long time as well. Her's didn't get anywhere near the control until over a month after her LMP. They were very very light and going up and down for the first week.

@KatieBklyn: it was a squinter on one of those Internet cheapie that detect 10miu of hcg. The next morning I tested negative with an FRER. I'm so sorry you had to go through that at 11weeks  I'm hoping if this isn't a viable pregnancy, it happens sooner rather than later.

@oliviaoblivia: ive used FRERs and 10miu internet cheapies so far. Might pick up a digital today.

With this pregnancy I had practically nothing on a cheapie at 13 dpo and a for sure no doubt line on FRER.
What kind of test did you use?

Was it a squinter on an FRER or a less sensitive test?

My first pregnancy, which ended in miscarriage at 11 weeks (triploidy) I got BFNs at 11 dpo on an FRER and 12 dpo on one of those "early result" digital tests. Skipped 13 dpo, and got a very light line on an FRER at 14 dpo. It was darker than a squinter, but not by much. I did make it to 11 weeks, but the baby was measuring behind the whole time and my guess is that my hcg was really low because of the triploidy.

I hope that your light lines have another explanation and that this is a viable pregnancy, though! Fingers crossed for you.

@Kimo: oh wow, so sorry for your 3 CPs! That's interesting though about your successful pregnancy and the lines though. I'm really really hoping for the same but only time will tell. Do you rember how long it took from your bfp to start bleeding for your chemicals?

@Mrs. Jacks: that's what the logical side of my brain is saying as well. My line with my daughter at 12dpo was pretty dark. Ugh, I guess I just have to wait and see! Thank you!

@PrincessBaby: I'm not 100% on my O date but I'm really regular in that I always o CD10-12 and i had O pain on CD10-11 this cycle. I don't think I'm going to get betas done, not sure yet. Maybe I will call today and see. I should pick up more FRERs but they are so freaking expensive ugh. Thanks for sharing your stories! I'm really hoping this baby sticks but we will see..

@mrsjyw: thanks mama...I always hear the line darkness doesn't matter but it really seems to make a difference for most people. Congrats on your pregnancy!!! Thanks for sharing

I've had 3 chemical pregnancies, and with all three I pretty much knew early on that things weren't going to be good. The tests were always really slow to darken, and then eventually they would just come to a standstill and never get any darker. However... with my 4th pregnancy I was obsessed with watching the test lines and I felt like they took unusually long to progress, but my hcg doubled appropriately and that pregnancy ended up being viable much to my surprise! I really, really hope this is the case with you. I know it sucks to be stuck in limbo, and hope you have good news soon!

With DS I tested negative 7-9dpo, blazers and a digi on 10dpo night.

With CP, I tested negative 9-11dpo, faint faint maybe line on 11dpo, a positive digi on 12dpo but then negative by 16dpo morning and started bleeding later that day.

With this pregnancy, I tested 11dpo evening and got a blazer and pos digital.

Fwiw, ic tests never worked for any of my pregnancies!

I know that the darkness isn't supposed to matter, but for me the darkening lines were the viable pregnancies and light lines were my cp.

Fingers and toes crossed for you!!

If you are not super certain of your dates or did not track ovulation in some way- with opks or charting - then hopefully your dates are just not 100% accurate, and this early - 2 or 3 days can make such a huge difference. So hopefully it is just that :goodluck:

My two chemicals were later, lighter hpts....I didn't get positives until 12 dpo or later, they were super light. But they didn't hang around but for 3 or 4 days- and by that time I'd already had betas to tell me how low my number was so I pretty much knew it was a cp already. Are you planning on getting betas?

With my healthy pregnancies, I had extreme squinters on frer on 9dpo, and definite no-doubt-about-it lines on 10 dpo. Everyone is different though...And different brands of hpts give different results as well. I never mess with the cheapies bc I always see people on here saying they had negative ICs and then blazing positive frers. Or questionably light lines on ICs. I only use Frers bc there has just never been any question with them. Even when the line is light, it is OBVIOUS.

My light tests have always been chemicals. Sorry, I know that's hard to hear, but when I had my daughter the line was there on 8 dpo and it was darker than the control. Hcg doubling is what matters, not the starting number... But you need quant hcgs by blood to know.

Not sure how many people are even around today, but hoping to get some stories as I'm getting a little worried.

I got a squinted on what I think was 12dpo, and it was super super light. Tested again at 14,15, and this morning at 17dpo and the line is getting darker, but is still light.

Looking to hear stories, both positive and ones that didn't end well are welcome. From what I've read online, the line of the test doesn't matter and its just a yes or no answer, but it seems like from what I have read, the faint lines usually do not end well.

I know there's really nothing I can do but just wait and see what happens, but it might help to hear some stories.
