Thanks for the info everyone! Glad no one has heard of fake strollers!

@nycalimama - The serial # info is helpful, but I think I would want to make sure I could get the warranty too.

I found one seller who said he is closing his store and has one of each color. I wonder if he could sell it to me under his dtore name and still get the warranty.

I bought an uppababy stroller adapter off ebay (but i picked it up rather than having it shipped) the place that i picked it up from was this huge warehouse-the guy that ran the company said they handle returns for amazon (i guess amazon has numerous locations they ship from) and walmart... He said they get a tremendous discount (he said a lot of times what is returned is not what was purchased- he once opened a britax marathon box and found a graco infant car seat... He said most of the times things are missing, like the covers of car seats) but theyre able to resell it for really cheap. So it might not be a fake, but if youre going to buy one, make sure you have all the pieces!!

I responded to an ad for a new cellphone that was priced well and it turned out to be a scam. They responded to me with an email that said that they already sold the phone but got it from some website (a penny auction one) and made a profit. The website they pointed me to was scammy.

Perhaps it's something along these lines?

On the other hand, I resold a brand new Britax B-ready for $50 off retail because I was able to get the free car seat with it and didn't need the stroller.

I've been looking at stuff for sale on Craigslist and lately I've noticed that there are some stores on there with listings. Can you tell if it's a baby store that's clearing out their stock?

An Uppa Baby should have the serial number sticker somewhere near the bottom of the stroller. They show where exactly on their website's FAQ page. You should/could also ask the seller where and when they purchased it and why they are selling it. (This way also you would have information for the warranty if anything happens to the stroller. Technically though, I don't believe the warranty is really valid anymore after it's sold on Craigslist.)

I know someone posted about buying a fake Ergo a few weeks ago from eBay. I was looking at the Uppababy Vista online and saw there were A LOT for sale locally on my Craigslist. All for about $500-515 - NEW. I've never heard of fake strollers for sale, but in this day in age, who knows. Anyone ever hear of fake strollers for sale? And if I were to see one, how would I know?
