Aw you poor thing! I passed out and fell and called. They didn't have me come in. I fell on ice after that and didn't call.

I just fell about 2 hours ago on the ice. I ugly-cried but mainly because it hurt! I think I landed primarily on my wrist, arm, and hip. I'm only 21 weeks and not feeling movement as regularly, especially when moving around, so I'm hoping to sit and relax right now to feel baby more.

Not sure if anyone said this but if you are Rh negative definitely call! Sometimes a minor trauma can cause a little fetal blood to get into yours and you would need rhogam.

I fell down some stairs at 35 weeks. I wouldn't of called since I landed on my legs/butt except the next day I started having some contractions so I went in and spent the night in hospital for some monitoring.

I fell at 25 weeks in the middle of a busy airport concourse. Someone had dropped a piece of clear plastic on the floor, which I didn't see, and my foot slipped right out from under me. I went down on bended knee while the other slipped out to the side. I didn't bump my bump or bottom, so it was only slightly jarring. Some guy helped me up, but I wasn't hurt. I phoned my husband right away, and immediately burst into tears when I heard his voice. I was a tiny bit scared, but it was mostly the concern in his voice that did me in - so I acted like any toddler would! I didn't phone the doctor, but really didn't feel like I needed to, even given my reaction.

So sorry that you fell! I would have cried too (mostly cause I was embarrassed and also cause I was scared!). I didn't fall while pregnant, but someone ran into me really hard on the street, to the point where it hurt my belly. I cried a lot, I was fine and the baby was fine but it scared the crap out of me. I didn't end up going to the doctor though, cause I felt okay once I calmed down. Based on what everyone else is writing, it seems like calling would only be for reassurance!

yeah, i'm still leaning towards not calling... i only hit my knees (ouch) and didn't hit any belly at all. i've been drinking cold water since then to make her move and she's been flip flopping all over the place. i'm usually not one to worry and call the doctor a lot, but i wanted to make sure i wasn't being careless or something...

I would only call if I'd hit my bump, had injured myself in a way that needed checking/treating, or if I'd fallen due to dizziness/weakness (rather than tripping, misjudging distance, etc).

I fell down the stairs (~5 stairs) when I was around 23ish weeks pregnant. I landed pretty hard on my butt and was completely freaked out. I didn't fall on my abdomen, and he continued to move (a lot!) throughout the rest of the day, so I didn't call my OB (it was the weekend). My husband talked me down from my worrying - he's a pretty cautious guy, so I figured if he wasn't that concerned (and no bleeding/decreased movement), I shouldn't be either. LO is almost 6 months old now and doing great :)

I fell towards the end of my last pregnancy. I tore my pants and scraped up my knees really badly. I didn't hit my abdomen or notice any changes in his movements, so I didn't call my OB.

I fell twice, once outside (slipped on some mud and landed hard on my leg/side) and once at work (at hospital) hard on my hip. These falls happened at 36+ weeks.

I was by myself the first time and freaked out, so I went into triage and was monitored for the 4 hours. All was good.

The second time I was with a coworker who used to be a L&D RN... She saw the whole thing happen and said if it were her she would go home and rest and only go in to triage if babe stopped moving or I had bleeding or contractions.

Oh, you poor thing. I did the same thing walking back from a meeting in the city when I was about 34 weeks pregnant. I didn't notice that there was a leg jutting out from a sign on the sidewalk, tripped over it and fell on my side.

So many people ran over to me, and the coworker that I was with made a big fuss, and I was so embarrassed. I was totally fine and so was LO since he was moving around fine, but the embarrassment killed me! For the record, I didn't call my doc and made sure LO moved around quite a bit just in case. All was fine...just commiserating in the embarrassment to tell you that you aren't alone!

I fell at about 17 weeks on some ice...hard. I landed on my bum and was terrified I'd somehow hurt the baby.

I didn't call because there was no one TO call - I was in a tiny ski town in the French/Swiss Alps, it was the middle of the night at home. I didn't have any bleeding, so I just waited it out, rested, and hydrated. That night was actually when I started to be SURE I'd felt my daughter move for the first time. :) I told my doctor when I went in the next time and she said there's so much padding fluid in there that the baby is just getting sloshed around - to her it was a ride on a waterslide :)

Said baby is now two and half years old, by the way! :)

I fell twice this pregnancy within a week. I went to the doctor's office right before Christmas. I actually bruised my nose a bit with one of the falls. LO #2 was okay, happy, and kicking.

During my last pregnancy, I fell and had bloody knees on a day I was getting rechecked for an infection. My knees were bloody, but okay. I drank lemonade and LO was fine. He's 2.5 years old and had me sing songs this morning that Daddy didn't last night.

I got checked by the doctor both times. It was comforting to have the doctor's do a heartbeat check and make sure that all is well. I get hyper aware when pregnant. It's one thing to fall when you're not pregnant, but when there's two of you, it's another story. I'm all about protecting my LO in my tummy. Today, I've got a doctor's appointment for an ongoing cold. I'm freaking out over taking too much Mucinex and coughing so much. Normally, I'd work through it, but with pregnancy, I get it taken care of.

thanks for the responses! i think more than anything, it just freaked me out - that's why i cried. i'm also about a month into this new job so i was embarassed that i fell for pretty much no reason and embarassed that i cried about it.

i think i'll just keep monitoring kicks and analyzing everything and not call the doctor just yet. i really only did hit my knees so i think it's fine.

I fell 2x when I was pregnant.
First time I slipped and fell/slid on my side at around 24 weeks.
2nd time I slipped on black ice and fell really hard on my butt. I was around 32 weeks.
I called my ob but didn't go in to see him since I wasn't cramping and DD was moving around.

When I was around 22ish weeks I slipped on some ice and landed on my hands and knees. I was shaken up, but I decided not to go to the doctor (and end up waiting 4 hours) because I did not land on my stomach. Everything was fine.

If you had landed on your tummy, I'd suggest getting checked out mostly for peace of mind. Keep in mind that your baby is cushioned with amniotic fluid and your muscle/tissue. Baby is probably completely fine.

so i was walking through my lobby today after grabbing lunch and totally fell in front of everyone - i'm talking dropped my soda, smashed my sandwich and was laid out on the floor type falling. i'm 29 weeks pregnant and really only hit my knees and hands on the floor and i feel fine (other than my knees hurt...). i was a little shaken up (and cried because it scared me and everything during pregnancy makes me cry) and embarassed (literally like 10 people ran over to me), but otherwise, i feel fine. I've felt the baby move since then and don't have any preg related pain.... That being said, would you still call or go to the doctor? I'm not really an overcautious person so I wasn't planning to do anything, but i'm just wondering if it's one of those things i SHOULD do. Thoughts?

i'm adding a poll just for fun. because why not.
