@yoursilverlining: Yeah, maybe now isn't the best time to be doing this. I guess I can just see what they have and go from there.

Getting an entire winter wardrobe now (when the fall stuff is all being put out, so no winter stuff will be on sale) for less than $100 is going to be tricky; I think. You can always order stuff off Ebay, too!

We live in Maine and in winter LO wears: long-sleeve onesies, cardigans, hooded zip-up sweaters, sweatshirts, long-sleeve shirts/tops, warm socks, boots, fleece booties for crawlers, thicker cotton pants, hats, coat, mittens/gloves. Fleece sleepers for sure!!! Fleece 1-piece play suits.

I would skip the winter coat and do something like a zippered fleece. It's safe to use in the car seat and they can move around in them. I have several for my son from Carters and Osh Kosh, purchased for no more than $15.

I also don't like hoodies, because I couldn't get comfortable if he fell asleep in it and I had to put him in his crib. Instead, my son wore lots of onesies, pants and cardigan jackets by Baby Gap, and they were often reversible....they might come back in stock in the fall.

I also did overalls with onesie turtlenecks and that's pretty much it. He had jeans and cords, but hardly wore those, they were just not comfortable for him when he took naps.

eta: I wanted stuff with a knit waistband, nothing with snaps and buttons and all that jazz. Too much work! I also used onesies until he was busting out of the 24 month ones because i hate the bare back/diaper hanging out.

@MamaMoose: I was wondering about jeans... I'd read on here at some point that they weren't great for crawlers? Maybe I could get some of those Carter's jeggings, assuming his thighs slim up a bit!

Maybe I can get his grandmother to buy his winter coat ;)

I would get jeans, Ts (long and short sleeve), pull over sweaters, and sleepers. I think you could get a good amount for $100 but probably not everything since you'll likely want to get him a winter coat of some sort.

I should mention that I have almost NOTHING. I have one short-sleeve graphic onesie, one cardigan, and some socks. So pretty much starting from scratch.

I'm going on vacation next week, and there's lots of shopping to be had where I'm headed (as opposed to none where I live). I'm thinking of taking advantage of the outlets to get some good deals for LO.

But what do I need? We live in Western NC, so it gets cold in the winter, but not, like, Chicago-cold. LO is a boy, and he will be (I assume) crawling and/or walking during this time. I'm currently setting myself a budget of $100. Can I get an entire fall/winter wardrobe for that?

Here are the kids stores at the outlet mall: Carter's, The Children's Place, Crewcuts, Gymboree, Hartstrings, Janie & Jack, OshKosh B'gosh, and Stride Rite Keds Sperry.

I'm also planning to stop by the Atlanta H&M on the way down!

Please help me; what do I need?! Like, how many pieces, what things to avoid, must-haves, etc.
