I’ve only worn them twice and both times had a professional apply them. Sephora will do free makeovers if you spend $50 (so easy at Sephora) and they did mine last time. Maybe have them talk you through the process the first time!

If you can afford it, look into getting lash extensions. If we had the extra cash, thats one luxury I would jump at.

Magnetic lashes!!! Ardell makes these amazing magnetic lashes that way you don’t have to worry about glue or anything. They sell them as a full set or just accents. The full set can be tricky to get just right. Most people end up cutting them in the middle to get them on right so I would just get the accents. You can just put mascara on, stick the accents right on and BAM!

@bhbee: sadly no tricks that I know off! I just try to go gentle and slow, and not at an extreme angle. I will admit, I lose lashes here and there, but I don't regret it. I only use the lashes on workday or larger social events or dates on weekends. Otherwise I just use the 3D mascara, to give my lashes a break.

Maybe I'll try putting them on later on one eye to show the difference and take/post a picture.

@DesertDreams88: are there any tricks to removing them easily? I’m worried about the lashes I have left 😬 and would also love to be able to keep them nice and reuse them like that. Awesome recommendations!

I’m not an expert but I did just want to say that I made the mistake initially of using black glue because I thought it would blend better. Instead it just made a smeary black mess all over my lash line and I had to redo my eye makeup. So get the clear glue!

I have worn fake eyelashes for 80% of my days for the past 8 years. I did a year of full strip ones but that got annoying and "heavy." I did a year of the small clusters, but that got too time-consuming. So now, for the past 6 years, I use half-strips on the outer half of my eyes. I often forget they're even there. Everyone always compliments me on my eyelashes and sometimes I fess up and say they're fake and the person acts surprised.

I use "Ardell Lash Accents Pair Style 301" or I use these, cutting them in half: "Andrea Mod Strip Lash Pair Style 21." You can get them in any drugstore or on Amazon. I re-use them for awhile, probably 2-3 weeks, so it's not $$$. I take them off each night and "peel" off the used glue. It takes me 1 min in the morning to re-apply, max.

I use Duo Lash Glue, black, to apply them. Remember to apply them to the base of your LASHES, not your LID. Also, sometimes I use tweezers to "squeeze" them onto my lashes, if they look a little unattached. Rare, though.

For mascara with or without fake eyelashes, I use Mia Adora 3D mascara. $20 on Amazon.

I've never tried them because I know I'll screw it up.... but I have a few products that help - Thrive Causmetics mascara helps, it has fibers in this that lengthen & thicken. There are other products that do this too.....

I'm considering getting a last lift & tint, but i'm a little scared!

@jennlin821: ha yeah that is my problem, I’ll never practice enough since I only want them for things like family photos! Maybe I should make it a nightly practice session :silly:

Fale eyelashes just take practice, I used to wear them for dance performances.

For mascara I use Blink Mascara Amplified - it littlerally makes your eyelashes longer by creating tubes around your exisiting lashes. Sounds crazy, but look it up. I love it!
This would probably be easier than attempting to glue eyelashes on everyday. :)

This pregnancy has destroyed my eyelashes. I feel like I look so much better when they are long and thicker and I’d love to use false eyelashes for important photos and such, but I’ve never gotten the hang of it (and honestly haven’t even tried since getting married probably - a friend ended up doing mine then).

If you are good at it - any brands you like? Techniques? YouTube tutorials? Or is there somewhere (like a store counter) I can pay to put them on well? (Besides the expensive / semi-permanent variety)
