Thank you ladies! Last night my DH and I did laps in the house. Once again my contractions were erratic. Trailing to about 6-13 mins. I was told to take a Tylenol to help with aches. I got about 1hr of sleep last night.

At about 1:30 this morning I had a lot of bloody show and as I was showering, my contractions went to 5-1-1 finally. Went straight to triage and now finally admitted!

Oh hun, I know what you're going through. We tried sex, nipple stimulation, walking, bouncing, spicy food, a glass of wine.. Nothing worked and contractions kept tapering off. I ended up being induced 10 days overdue. I hope you don't have to wait that long!

Oh that sucks. It happened to me for a week. But when I finally went into real labour I was already 6 cm. So things could still be happening!

This sounds indicative of your body trying to get LO into optimal birthing position. Walking, bouncing, and doing stairs can help baby shift. Also, google the Miles Circuit. Good luck!

I JUST went through this and I know how much it sucks. I had it for 5 days and same as you they got so close together I thought that was it and then it would stop. My doctor told me to do strenuous work and lots of walking. Eventually my water broke so then there was no doubting it! This early labour does seem to help with active labour though so hang in there! You are SO close!

Oh God, be careful with castor oil. It can make you so sick that by the time you're in active labor, you're exhausted. I'm so sorry you're dealing with this. I went into labor every night for a week before I was induced with my daughter at 40w6d. I'm 36w2d with baby 2 and have been going into labor each night for a week. Sometimes it happens for a while as your body gears up. Can you take a warm bath to ease the pain a bit?

I had something like this. Sporadic contractions that were typically more infrequent than 5-1-1 for two full days. By the 2nd day, things were incredibly intense. I was unable to sleep for 2 nights straight. The contractions got very high up on my 1-10 pain scale. In the end, it did turn out to be real labor... just a pretty atypical labor. I finally required pitocin to get things going at a faster pace, or I probably would have been in labor for 4 or 5 days. My story is pretty weird... but just saying, you definitely sound like you are at least in early labor.
I tried bouncing on the yoga ball, deep breathing, going for a walk, taking multiple baths, etc. Some helped to relax me a bit, some helped to get things going, but only briefly.

I'm going to have to disagree with the castor oil suggestion, though I know it's commonly used. There is some evidence that it can cause the baby to pass meconium in the womb, and it is NOT worth that risk in my opinion (my DD had severe meconium aspiration).
Not to mention the way it'll give you diarrhea and make you feel awful (and dehydrate you) which is the last thing you need in labor.

Walking, sex, and bouncing on the exercise ball are all good options, but don't wear yourself out.

I'm so sorry you are having a hard time right now. I hope baby decides to make an appearance soon!!

Ugh, I'm so sorry. I had several days of false labour before any 'real' labour started. I showered a ton, took some gravol to help me sleep as much as I could, bounced on the exercise ball, and walked. Hope they get regular for you soon.

I walked like crazy. Getting on my hands and knees helped with the pain. Eventually I wasn't able to walk anymore bc I didn't want to have to get on all fours on the sidewalk :)

Just as an FYI, my contractions never got regular. I was worried I wasn't progressing but checked into the hospital at 6 cm. Just wanted to let you know in case that happens to you!

My midwife told me to take castor oil and it worked like a charm! My contractions became more regular and I progressed further. Try different positions, warm shower or bath to alleviate contractions

I'm about to go out of my mind. Today was the third day of contractions (39 w 4d) and with tracking the contractions were erratic 10 -14 mins apart and as of this morning I had 1 hour of 5-1-1. We went to the hospital only to be told we are still in early labor and things aren't progressing fast enough and they turned us around to go home.

My contractions are intense, but all over the board. I don't know if I can take another day and or possible more days of this.

Am I being a baby? Is there any tricks to get this moving along? Good tricks to alleviate the contractions?
