Have you seen an ND? If I were you I would definitely get rid of soy next as something like 40% of babies who are dairy intolerant are also soy intolerant. Unfortunately, soy is the hardest one to eliminate because it's in EVERYTHING so you need to read labels really carefully. I'm super lazy about solids and so far still only do purees so my little dude has only had fruit, veggies and meat directly. Both of my children had broad allergy issues as infants (I was on really severe elimination diets because they were breastfed). Every doctor we saw said there was no point in any allergy testing prior to AT LEAST a year because they just aren't reliable. His IgE was 13.5. Our doctor tested because we couldn't get his eczema under control. He was also spitting up a ton. After the blood test, we were referred to an allergist for further testing and told not to give him any new foods (at this point he had only tried a few things). The allergist did a skin test for eggs, oats and peanuts. Eggs and peanuts came up positive. We were given an epi pen and told to come back in 4 months. We didn't love the doctor and left feeling like he didn't give us much information. Our ped referred us to another clinic for a second opinion and further testing. </p> <p>I have a few questions: Has anyone had experience with false positives with skin tests? Should we request blood work? At what point will a doctor administer a challenge? What other questions should we be asking at the new clinic? </p>
