We loved the beloved in playa mujeres but it has since become adults only. We booked a trip last year to the finest, which is owned by the same group, and had been really excited for it but ended up canceling due to Zika. It might be worth looking into. http://www.finestresorts.com

yes,we loved the place we went to! It was the family club section of the Princess resorts.

http://www.grandrivieraprincess.com/family_club.asp

it is a large resort, and the family section was not super close to the beach. But it was a beautiful walk through the resort to get there or you could take a tram ride, so it didn't bother us. I would also see if you could get a room on the first floor. that was the only con for us. At night when DS was asleep, DH and I hung out on the balcony of our second floor room and were very jealous of the first floor guests who had a swim up pool as their balcony!
