Maybe this is too matchy to the headbands?

@rattles: can you take a picture with your outfit and DH outfit in there too?

For me, if the girls requested those headbands and really like them, I would try to make them work. I figure it shows a little bit about who they are right this minute.

Is that plaid shirt for your son? I think it looks nice with the two dresses. I love all the items you have there. The girls will probably need a cardigan right? I think cream to match the cream cable knit tights would be great. Ideally similar but not identical to each other.

For you, depending on the neckline, maybe a statement necklace that could pull some other colors in? Like something with similar colors to the headbands. If you don’t normally wear a scarf, I wouldn’t do it for the picture- I figure you won’t feel natural and it will show.

For me the shirt is a bit matchy to the dresses. I would explore another color for the shirt. Maybe the mustard you mentioned?

@brownepiano: yeah, the headbands were my girls’ request, but they might just be out of luck. I was planning to wear a navy JCrew blouse with cream skinny cords and cognac Frye boots.

Although this matches how formal your girls' dresses look and the whole cream thing. Maybe just add some more browns and creams so that the teal can be your color.

I think mustard or orange would look good with those colors but the head bands are throwing me off. Pink with those colors feels more formal. Is that what you are going for? You could do a dark pink dress (somewhere between cranberry and pink) with a jean jacket and cognac boots to add color. Everyone always says you should pick your outfit first and I think that would help you.

@LBee: cream cableknit tights was exactly what I thought! I do like that scarf, though I wonder if it might be a little heavy for the weather here. Then again I saw a woman in fur lined boots at our 72 degree school pickup today :silly: November in Texas...

What about adding this scarf for more color?

https://www.anthropologie.com/shop/annie-plaid-ruffled-scarf?category=hats-scarves&color=012

I would do cable knit tights - probably cream.

My family has pictures next week for the first time in two kids! I’m having a hard time coordinating all five of us without it looking too matchy-matchy. I’m thinking a navy blouse and cream corduroys for me, jeans for DH and DS, the latter of whom could wear a navy onesie with the sweater. What color sweaters/tights would you do for the girls? I thought about a mustard cardigan for DD1 (navy dress) to bring in more color, but I think it might look random, so then maybe cream? Any other suggestions or favorite sources? It’ll be in the 60s/70s here, for reference.
