@Mrs. High Heels: This is the one, or close to what hubby has: http://www.amazon.com/Complete-Equipment-Gallon-Glass-Carboy/dp/B002BU7CVM/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1399729229&sr=8-1&keywords=double+fermentation+kit

He'll need a 5 gal cooking pot and bottles, but the Q&A says it's good for any type brew.

@shopaholic: yea I remember that bouquet - it was so cute and creative! so DH and I suck at keeping secrets from each other and I gave him some options from above, so he went with the beer membership that mr. Bee suggested! Now I feel like I have all these ideas I can use for other occasions and future father's days. Seems I'm all set for the next few years!

@Mrs. High Heels: Did you see the cigar and mini bottles [of liquor] I made for DH for Vday? It was pretty simple and he'd enjoyed most of the cigars and scotch from it already! Have you tried Stone Brewing Co.? It's nice to go for a meal and you can take a tour too!

@Mrs. High Heels: I got mines at Binny's but not sure if there is one by you? I live in Chicago. But if you go on the Johnnie website, it tells you where you can get it engraved by you!

http://www.johnniewalker.com/en-us/engravinglocations

And here's a pic of the bottle I got DH. You could engrave anything you want and they allow up to three lines!

No idea! For FIL we always just order something random online-- probably a sports shirt or something. For my dad I prefer to do some sort of outting, but with a newborn I don't know how realistic that is.

My DH is the one I'm really stumped about. Since this is his first father's day I really want to get him something special. Like preferably something he could keep forever... but I just don't know :/

@Mrs. High Heels: My DH loves cigars and scotch so one year I got him a bottle of Johnny Walker Blue Label and got it engraved. Kind of pricy but sure to be appreciated by Scotch lovers! And they offer complimentary engravings at Binnys for certain holidays.

D asks for a Hawaiian tee-shirt--it's what he asks for instead of the sterotypical tie :)

I'm going to see if I can find a matching or complementary one for E, as well. I did it last year but the quality of the shirts were very low.

@Mrs. High Heels: Ooh! I was going to suggest it to everyone, but if you think your hubby (or a father) would want to try their hand in beer-making, a beer brewing kit is way cool! You can buy different kits for different brews and they get to do it all themselves. My hubby does this and it's a lot of fun, but takes some time... really unique though :)

For DH, I got him a framed "Parks and Rec" quote by Ron Swanson, a little brag book of pics, and then a nice meal. We've been having an ongoing discussion that Mother's and Father's Days are gift giving days on behalf of our LO.

For my mom, I'm getting her a gift certificate from her favorite quilting store. For my dad, I'll have to wait to see what he wants. He's usually good at telling me a desired gift.

I'm still on the fence. DH loves to golf and the poor guy hasn't gone golfing in two years. So I was going to send him & FIL on a golf outing at a beautiful course an hour away. But DH's back has been bothering him and he said it hurts to swing a club. So...I'm not sure if I should do that.

Will definitely hand make something from LO for both though.

@rahlyrah: I would love to do that for DH when the budget is a bit looser! He loves microbrews and we make our own.

Ugh, I hate shopping for my dad for father's day...!! I like to spoil him but it's hard to shop for him. I always end up getting him gimmicky little things like BBQ tongs and an apron that says #1 grandpa or whatnot. I know he gets a kick out of them, but I can't help but feel like I am giving him junk!!

As for Wagon Sr. we don't do much for gifts for each other anymore, so I'll probably get him something home improvement related.. whatever he needs at the time. Probably something lawn-related since it'll be June!
