this may be a bit niche but if the relevant grandpa has any specialized interests and/or regularly reads email, there are a lot of subscription websites/newsletters out there that i think could be a great option. for example, the athletic now has the best sports coverage available, but it's a subscription website. my dad is a huge sports fan and already has a subscription to the athletic, so i'm planning to give him a subscription to a substack written by a longtime sportswriter covering the knicks who now funds his reporting solely through subscriptions to his newsletter. i think it's a great option if you know of a newsletter/site that matches their interests and then every time they read it they'll be reminded of your gift!

@catgirl: sadly not local. (But, they are on vacation right now, so I have an extra week and a half to mail something) These are awesome ideas. Definitely saving them for future gift ideas too. Thank you!!

Are you local? If so I'd say doing an activity. Things we regularly do with our parents: local sports games, bowling, visiting botanical gardens, going on walks and having a picnic, or any local attractions in your area.

If not local: fun socks (too late for custom ones but an idea for next year!), specialty coffee or alcohol, car detailing, paying for a streaming service for a year, or a digital picture frame. But honestly a restaurant gift card is always a win in my book!

Anyone have any good ideas for a Father's Day gift for a Grandpa who doesn't need/want any "Grandpa" stuff (already has mug and hat, and wouldn't want much else)

He doesn't golf or grill much, so none of the regular ideas I see on lists are very appealing.

All I can think of is a restaurant gift card, but that feels kind of lame...

Help!
