@mamabolt: that's why something like this is a good option: http://www.carters.com/carters/Out-N-About-Fleece-Pram/V_127-757,default,pd.html?cgid=carters-baby-boy-jackets-and-outerwear
provides the warmth needed, but is safe for carseats because it's not so bulky.

Like @Regberadaisy - it gets WAY too cold here for DS to not wear anything, even for walking to the car. In January, the whole month is always below zero.

I won't even take it off in the car - it takes so long for cars to heat up when the weather is so cold, so he would freeze in the car without something.

@mamabolt: I plan to take them off in the car but it gets way too cold here for blankets to cut it in the dead of winter.

We're not buying one - I have read that they are not safe for LO to wear in a carseat because you can not tighten the straps as much but the outfit could compress in a crash. We live in an area where we drive pretty much everywhere so unless we are going outside for leisure, I don't think we'll use it at all. On the off chance we want to go for a walk or something on a chilly day, we can make do with layers and blankets, and we'll likely keep a blanket in the car as well to put over her carseat on chilly days.

I bought my sister one of those fleece ones from Carters and she loved it. Our winters are probably pretty comparable to yours. Obviously as a baby you are not keeping them out in the cold than longer for necessary so it worked for them.

I was looking into getting one from Gap. I saw a few at Once Upon A Child but was surprised they were charging $12-$15 for a used "snowsuit" (not really waterproof, just warm - some were sherpa) so I wanted to look to see how cheap I could get it.

Columbia sportswear makes some cute stuff too, but it's more of a snow sports look. You can find them at good prices online.

Looking for a snowsuit for M for this winter. Our winters can get pretty bad around here so I need something that is waterproof and really warm. Hood & footed important! Mainly for walks and carrying from car to door.
She'll be 7-11months through the thick of the winter.

Don't want to spend a fortune either! Cap at $40ish if I can find a coupon?

So far I've looked at The Children's Place, Old Navy, Carters & miniBoden.
