DH and I got our baby a personalized PBK backpack (like the normal adult size one) as his daycare bag bc we have to send the kitchen sink with him everyday and we have both been surprised by how comfy it is! We use it as a diaper bag all the time on the weekends. The SkipHop messenger is still our go-to - we keep diapers and wipes and spare clothes in it and it lives in the car at all times - but when we need a backpack the PBK thing has been really great. When we use the backpack I just use small packing cubes. One for spare clothes, one for diapering stuff, and a small insulated bag for drinks and snacks. The changing pad thing isn't a factor for us because we actually like carrying chux pads with us for changing on the go.

I just got this one a couple weeks ago after seeing an ad of FB for it and LOVE it. Super affordable, great quality and I have been so much more orgnaized since I got it. The way the top stays open is really helpful. Lots of colors too. I got the navy.

@Mrs. Pickle: I noticed it was on the smaller side, but I don't load up the diaper bag. LO never needed an extra pair of clothes, so of course baby # 2 is going to need a really stuffed & stocked bag. lol

We were gifted two diaper bags, one sling by skip hop and a Patagonia backpack. I LOVE the Patagonia backpack to use as a diaper bag! In fact we're traveling right now with it and I can't believe the amount of diapers we can shove in it! There's also a small pocket for headphones that I use to hold a binky, nipple shield and nipple cream that I know is a clean pocket and only used for those items!

i have 2 back packs and i love them both for different reasons. i have a JJB be right back and it is awsome, but when i pack it full and need to wear it for a long period, i don't find it comfortable. for shorter trips and when i drop it in the stroller part of the time, i love it tons.

I also have a Leke backpack, which i find more comfortable. and it is bigger. so i use when i have both kids and will be out for the day.

I bought a backpack from Little Bright Studio (not meant to be a diaper bag), and I LOVE IT!! And, coincidentally, the back pocket is the perfect size to fit our portable potty training toilet (the potette plus).

@MrsBrewer: I used my regular North Face backpack for a while with DS and I didn't like it. Everything falls to the bottom and I would have to take it all out to find what I needed.

I just bought the Skip Hop Forma. I haven't gotten it yet/used it, but it will be for baby #2 and DS (3 years old, potty trained). I know two other moms of two that raved about it, and I like that it's wider (so not super tall) so that I won't have to take everything out to find what I need. The black is simple, but not boring, and I like that it has the option to clip to the stroller.

I have been using a cheap over the shoulder backpack from Amazon that I think was recommended here (or on the blog) for DS, but it won't be big enough for an infant/2 kids:

@winniebee: I've wondered that honestly, I see a lot of parents out and about just with a regular Northface back pack. There are still a ton of compartments, and honestly, they look much more comfortable/supportive than some of the "diaper bag back packs"

@MrsBrewer: Found the JJB outlet site. http://www.baby-gear-outlet.com/

There's a pretty big following but they post new items every Monday at 6pm PST. You can snatch up some great items if you set your alarm. Yeah, there are JJB fans. But I think there have been some newer prints so the older prints might not be scooped up as fast. I wouldn't say JJB is as bad as Tula.

My JJB collection is a bit much so I'm not buying anymore. I actually need to post on the classifieds some of the bags I need to sell.

Before LO2 is here, I think I want to get a different diaper bag. We have a standard Skip Hop messenger style one now, and I can't imagine carrying that thing with an infant bucket seat, and chasing a 2 year old...hahahah I want to get a back pack one for sure!

Any recommendations? Also, it doesn't even have to be a "diaper bag" designated back pack. Even a regular back pack that could function as a diaper bag is awesome. Also, nothing girly, DH will be using it too so no hot pink flower prints hahahah
