Dd is not that chunky but I did switch to two piece fleece pjs with a onesie underneath. It's just easier than wrangling her when she's rolling while getting dressed. Also if I go up in size it was too long in length.

Burts bees is good for flexibility. Not the zipper one, but the snap one. My daughter wore one pair for like 6 months.

I had a few Little Me brand footed pj's that fit T well. He was/is short and chunky. I did give up on one piece pj's early though and switched him to the long john, two piece style at about 9 months or so. I get his from Old Navy mostly now.

Hanna Anderson PJs were great for my chunky babies. And Gymboree pants. The slimmer fit style of pants at Old Navy, GAP, Carters do not work at all on my 15 month olds legs and bottom.

@Alba4: They stop the sleep n plays at 9m and move to pajamas, which are cut different.

Baby Gap seems to run bigger than Carter's on DD. She has chunky thighs but she's also very tall so that kind of offsets it.

@Alba4: I'm not in love with Walmart generally, but I buy their footed pjs for my chunky baby. Size 12 months at 6 months old, so solidarity on the giant babies. Starting at 12 months they have the footed pjs in the toddler section instead of the baby section.

FWIW the sleep and plays are cut more generously than thr jammies at Carter's. Footie jammies go way up into at least a 5T, but Carter's is the easiest to find brand. We had good luck with Target's brand for our chunker.

@Alba4: so hard to find! I had to give up on footed pajamas around that age because they get longer and longer when you size up but that wasn't what I needed! Check out and h&m. They run big and so I was able to get him so really nice clothes only one or two sizes up. And he fit them for a long time! He still wears some of them a year later! Thank god their growth slows down.

Baby Gap worked for my chunky LO at that age. I find Carters runs really skinny. Old Navy was sort of in between.

I'm having a hard time finding footed pajamas that fit over my 5 month olds chunky thighs. He wears 6-12 month and 12 month size (he's over 20 lbs). Can someone suggest a more generously cut brand since Carters is NOT working.
