@sorrycharlie: yes they're flip inserts. I like them they're the only inserts I've ever used so I have nothing to compare to. They slide around a bit but not too bad. Yea that'll be so cute! I got like 9 flip covers and 15 inserts for $50 off craigslist, a girl had used them through 2 kids and just wanted rid of them. We use them for travel bc it's less to haul with us.

I have used: Fuzzibunz, bum genius, amp, apple cheeks, Alva, and sun babies pocket diapers, as well as some WAHM fitteds/hybrid fitteds, plus any kind of insert you could imagine!

My favourites are: original OS fuzzibunz diapers, stuffed with cheap Alva 4 layer bamboo inserts for days, and WAHM hybrid fitteds at night.

I have used: China Cheapies, Alva, Kawaii, BGs, Flips, Happy Endings, Rumparoos, GoGreen, Rump Around, Charlie Banana and Funky Fluff.

Funky fluff is beyond my favorite!!!!! Second choice being Charlie Banana. All Funky Fluffs can be used as pockets, AIO and AI2. It also has snaps to hold the inserts in place and two openings if you are using as a pocket. Makes them super easy and fast to stuff!

I was given a bunch of Thirsties from a friend, and so far so good! I also bought some Rumparooz for my tiny newborn and liked them. We also have some Flips, but haven't used them yet because they're snaps and I've grown accustomed to velcro :)

I have used:

Covers: thirsties, flip, best bottoms, bummis, and gDiapers. Of those, I like my thirsties covers the best. The gDiapers win for fit but if you use them over and over they start to feel wet.

Pockets: Rumparooz, BumGenius, and Applecheeks. I love my RAR, but the colors and two-size system of the Applecheeks is awesome.

Inserts: BumGenius, Flip, gDiapers, and cotton fitted diapers. I like the one-size inserts but the fitteds are best for poop. I've never had a blowout! The con to the fitted diapers are that they keep the wetness right on the skin, but I've never tried a microfiber fitted diaper.

I've only used AppleCheeks, but I love them. I love how the inserts come out on their own in the wash.

I also like that they are made in Canada and are SO CUTE!

@jetsa: hm. I feel like our LO is a bit sensitive to that as well so maybe she wouldn't like them anyways. I've just been seeing people use them/talk about them and they seem so much trimmer than the FTs that I was curious :)

@Mae: I have both and feel like the elementals keep the moisture too close to his skin. I know people LOVE the natural fibers but my kids sensitize to being wet.

@sorrycharlie: yeah, they're super cute but I can't for the price. They run specials on freetimes and I could get 2 for that!

I have BG free times and Alva pockets. When LO was smaller (like 1-3 mo) I liked the Alva better because she only needed 1 insert so they were trimmer than the free times and fit her a bit better I felt like. Now that she's a bit bigger I prefer the Freetimes because I hate stuffing pockets. I'm sort of wishing I'd tried some elementals though! But I have enough and I'm not really one to buy extra stuff just because.

I'm just starting out (a little over a month in!) and I definitely have some preferences already, though I haven't tried many brands.

I'm liking the fit of Alvas and Kawaii best so far. I like the flips with velcro (with a flour sack towel and mf insert, or two of the mf/bamboo inserts). Not a huge fan of the Bum Genius 4.0 with snaps, honestly..I know most people love those!

I'm also finding that it seems to be more the insert that is important - I've only tried microfiber (okay, but doesn't last long), mf/bamboo blend (like these a lot!), and hemp.

what do you like best?
