We got a set like this from Costco last Christmas with her kitchen. It has a mixer, blender, and coffee maker. She LOVES them. They turn, spin, make noise, etc. This is the set they have this year. She also got a bunch of the M&amp;D cutting food, pizza, and birthday cake has hand me downs and she loves those too. She isn't into the other play (plastic) food as much. I agree that the play kitchen gets a lot of play. My girls also really love the Melissa &amp;Doug cookie set, the Learnibg Resources Munch It basket (a good starter assortment of foods), and making sandwiches. The v-tech teapot/cake set is another fave, but it's really.
