You can request that the flag be flown over the state capitol on a special day (ie: graduation day) -- so that is a popular gift here.</p> <p>ETA: My uncle gave me "everything I needed to get to class on time" - an alarm clock, an umbrella, flip flops...I can't remember what else. It was an odd assortment of things, but a cute theme. If flying, cash or something small would really be the most convenient. </p> <p>I like the idea of a bathrobe/towel or maybe some sort of organizer that makes it easier to organize your stuff in a small space - like a hanging jewelry or shoe organizer, or a basket for organizing toiletries. I took a mason jar and cut a slit in the top to drop coins in and used vinyl letters to label it "laundry money."
