If you want more board game ideas you can also look up gameschooling. There's a lot written about it for homeschooling with long lists of math games.

@brownepiano: I'll definitely look into buying this game. sounds very interesting.
@JennyPenny: is that out of print? not sure I, myself, am ready to take some risks. we don't fare well in game where you need to decide if you want to roll again. i'll definitely look out for it...
@lady baltimore: I already have those dice. Thanks for reminding me that there's a game attached. But again, we didn't play it: because how do you play when it's a speed game? I just let my son do it. so we don't move any peg around. I just started telling him he can do division and multiplication to get to the number.
@hitchhiker: I am going to go to lakeshore learning and look at their games. it might be the best option.

We got this pack at school curriculum night and have been having a lot of fun with it. There are a lot of different games that work on different skills. My daughter is also 6 and in first grade and had similar sounding math skills to your child. We are using the second grade pack: https://www.lakeshorelearning.com/products/games/board-dice-games/family-engagement-math-pack-gr2/p/LC614/

Dragon wood is a fun math game. It's too hard for my 5 year old but his mental math isn't great at all.

Doesn't require super high-level math skills, but the mental flexibility it develops is vital (math teacher talking), and you can adapt the difficulty up or down as needed.

I wouldn't call it a "math game" but it's a fun game that relies on math that is fun for adults as well - Can't Stop. You roll 4 dice and and can move your tokens by combining the 4 die into 2 numbers - so if you roll, 1, 3, 4, 5 you could move 4 and 9, 6 and 7, or 5 and 8. It requires some mental math and manipulation as well as understanding of probability.

My son is 6 now.
Just after he turned 5, i bought him sum swamp and he loved it. We played a lot. then I bought a game from Lakeshore Learning (pop to win, 1st grade). I am glad I didn' t buy the kindergarten version, it was too easy. Then I bought 3 packs of math cards from amazon and used it with that game.

What other math board games do you suggest? Should i just buy some more math cards ... I saw there was a discontinued game called Flip 4. Sounds interesting but I don't want to spend $20 if it's not really worth it. For reference, my son can
do mental math quite well like 42+35... and knows the concept of multiplication...

Thanks!
