Eastlake Cafe. It's good food, always fresh, and they have awesome specials every day. They have outside seating so we can take the pup.

What's your favorite non chain restaurant in your community? I have two. The first is a Cajun cafe. The owners are from Baton Rouge just like my husband. They have the best fried cat fish around. The filets are seasoned to perfection. They also have amazing green beans that they sauté in butter with onions, garlic, and bacon. Yum! It's the only place around you can go for beignets and coffee. The next is a tiny little burger place. The restaurant is basically a shack. The dining room is tiny and jam packed with plastic tables and chairs. Their burgers are amazing! They're so juicy and huge. My hubby and I have to split a combo to be able to finish it.

You know what the best part about these two places are though? They're less than 10 minutes from my house. We're going to the Cajun restaurant tonight.
